  • That was for a race btw. For a 100 mile 'ride' I'd not be using gels at all, I'd probably not eat as many bars. I would have a bigger breakfast and just drink the two bottles. I'd probably also stop in the latter stages and refill a bottle with Lucozade.

    For standard Sunday 4/5 hour rides I'll have a croissant and a coffee before setting off and be fine, for the Ride 100 I was trying quite hard and cleraly burnt my way through all available stored energy way before I assumed I would, due to being a thicko.
