  • I think it looks ace and im not a massive fan of ben stiller either. Looks really different with a nice concept.

  • Intriguing trailer. I'll definitely look out for that.

It's not as good as this though:

I'm in Love with a Church Girl TRAILER 1 (2013) - Ja Rule Movie HD - YouTube

  • iz dat shot on one of dem ifones?

  • 'Only God Forgives' - well the people I was with did not like it at all. I did warn them before going, they were going by the look of the trailer. I think that is going to catch a lot of people out this weekend. I got the feeling lots of people did not expect what they got.

Anyway I really liked it. I thought the visuals and sound were excellent. I totally get the Lynch inspired feel to the whole film other people have picked up on, but at the same time it still is different. The movie on the whole is quite violent and graphic, but well done. I still think I need to watch it a few more times.

Have agreed to go with the same friends to see RED2 tomorrow night, which actually might check their boxes a bit better.

  • I seen Only God Forgives last night too, 2 time I've watched it.

Visually its stunning, the lighting, the composition and the cinematography all work amazingly together.
The music works very well with the type of dark film that it is!

But the story, I have found it that it was just too led by the music making that there wasnt really a story. Not that this is a bad thing always!
And although I think Drive was very similar I think it worked better than OGF.

As you say tho its gonna catch a lot of people out as they will think its a Ryan gos film and it'll be nice, its not tho, its dark, gritty and very violent!

    7/10.

  • I watched Mud last night.

    A real quality film.

  • RED2 on saturday night was pretty entertaining, the usual over the top action sequences. The wishy washy story and reasonable acting made it better than I was expecting. Mirren and Hopkins were both very good.

  • Mirren is always worth watching.

  • Only God Forgives... Amazing!

I love the blurring or antagonist/protagonist and the weird 'is it a dream or real life' scenes.

The cop character is well good.

    Here ends my review.

  • Saw it a 2nd time in the cinema last night and think it was even better than my first viewing. People I was with hated it pretty much tho! You win some you lose some.

  • Off to see Alpha Papa tonight. Am a massive Partridge fan, so really looking forward to it, but also ready to be underwhelmed.

Have been toying with going to see Only God Forgives, reviews are so mixed. Guess I might as well just go and make my own mind up

  • I've got Alpha Papa tickets for tomorrow night. Also a bit sceptical but so far all the reviews have been very positive.

  • So many films I want to see, but the weather is far too good to go sit in a darkened room for two hours! #1stworldproblem

Saw it last night, sums up my feelings too.

I also really enjoyed the music.

  • Alpha Papa is awesome.

    That is all.

  • Watched Trance last night. Wow the middle was long. Like, really really long. I liked it overall, but not by a huge amount. It may have been the least enjoyable of his films for me (including The Beach!).

Also watched Liberal Arts which I enjoyed. Some great characters. Flipped the quarter-life crisis genre a bit (everyone can be, and constantly is in, crisis). The main dude (from How I Met Your Mother) is not my favourite actor in the world, but I was able to ignore that for the most part.

  • Documentary on texting while driving by Werner Herzog

"From One Second To The Next" Documentary - It Can Wait - YouTube

  • Like Tenderloin I really enjoyed Mud, I thought the kids in it were terrific...

Just watched Iceman, bleak but really good... Really strange cast, lots of big names in small parts...

What's your problem? I'm discussing watching films on a film thread. Is that alright cupcake?

    Alpha Papa is awesome.

    That is all.

    Fuck yeah it is!

  • Slamm that photo is awesome. One of yours?

  • Just watching a film, adverts are sooooo annoying lol!
