  • Anyone know if you can get across the foot bridge at White post lane?

To answer my own question, yep you can. So quickest is hackney wick, cross at white post lane, then you're pretty much there

  • got out of family bbq, will be down around midday again.

  • Going to be late also 12

  • Yesterday was great fun, a brilliant response from the public. Some really excited individuals and i could hear people really impressed with the exhibitions. It was great to have such a varied range of players, Alfie is a such a good ambassador. We had so many little kids trying it out. When they can see someone else young it seems to give them confidence. East is too far for me to day, i have other pans in Brixton this afternoon. Fingers crossed they give us the court. It is very possible to store it at my house for a while. The time limit is mainly due to the lack of weather cover, but a tarp and a couple of weeks would be fine. I have lots of space in the back of the garden, and even a little shed, (with no roof) that it can be stacked in. My garage is a bit full right now. its no problem to bring it here, we can make it work no problem. Thanks guys.

  • Anyone picked up a bag of tools and bike bits? It was in a EHBPC Krakow goories bag.

  • Can anyone get hold of khornight and tell him he needs to be home by 6pm please ?

Ben, I hope you're not talking about Saturday sesh? Shortly after you arrived I saw it on the ground and put it back in your brooks bag.

  • Thank you so much to everyone that turned up to help and play today!! It is much appreciated. So much fun, great court, lots of throwins and tons of people signing up to have a go and find out more about polo. Really looking forward to tomorrow at the Olympic Park. I will be there at 8am building the courts and it starts at 11am I believe but we can play throwins as soon as the court is ready... (repost)

Jess it was a great day out. Wish I could have stayed. Loved helping out the public if my only contribution came in the form of shuffling balls in front of them. All in all, very cool, thanks for organising.

On a semi-related note, I was down at Green Park today and met Sara who plays grass polo near Wandsworth/Chelsea. Believe she said she used to play a bit of hardcourt on the west side. Hoping next year she can convince them to host grass polo. But regardless invited us lot down to try out their fixies on the grass any Wednesday when they meet.

  • I am slightly pinked...

  • Thank you so much to everyone that turned up to help today! It was so much fun, the build and take down was super quick and we had lots of people sign up for more information or to have a go. Loved pimping our bikes, watching the pro teams and talking to the public. I'll upload some pics to the Facebook page and would love it if anyone who took pics could send them to me. The court has gone back to the depot in Deptford and hopefully we can get the client's permission tomorrow to take them permanently to Herne Hill. Once again, thank you all. x x

  • Huge, huge thanks to everyone that showed up, played and helped out over the weekend. Your hard work was instrumental in pulling this together and creating a great atmosphere both days. It was brilliant watching you play and listening to the crowd's responses, especially when accompanied by a mariachi band or a beat-boxing sofa. Playing polo in the shadow of St. Paul's and the Olympic Stadium was beautiful.

I think what probably sums it up best is that at the end of today, people from RideLondon were taking photos of everyone helping to pack up the court. They couldn't believe how helpful, friendly, enthusiastic, engaging and positive London bike polo players were. Thank you all so much for making this what it was.

Ben, I have your bag of tools (including headset press!).

    I also have someone's jacket.

This weekend made me want to play more bike polo.

  • +1

40 mins to take down a court and pack it into two vans and clean up the surrounding area... many hands make light work!

  • Huge, huge thanks to everyone that showed up, played and helped out over the weekend.

Thanks for the introduction guys. I really enjoyed the day and I've spent over an hour reading the polo beginners thread. Definitely recommend it to those who've not yet tried.

  • Can anyone get hold of khornight and tell him he needs to be home by 6pm please ?
    Oops.

  • Massive congratulations to Jess and James for making it happen. It was all organised incredibly well.

I picked up a red jumper. No logo in it and a bit woolly.

  • Cheers for having us guys! Was an awesome welcome back to polo for me and playing in those locations (particularly St Pauls) was incredible. Jess and James had obviously put a load of effort in and it was nice to see so many people enjoying it.

    See you all soon.

  • yeah, was ace.

  • Thank YOU for being there at 8am on Sunday with me and Lockett to build the courts, THAT was much appreciated! Always lovely to see your little one too :)

  • Just received a lovely email from Richard, the organiser from the Olympic Park event just thanking everyone for their time and effort. They were very pleased with how it all went and are planning bike polo into the agenda for next year! Great stuff.

Finally got round to uploading my pics from St. Paul's (not a photographer). Give it about 30 more minutes, still syncing.
