That's a healthy budget. You could have a look inthe classifieds on this forum. There's some really decent stuff there. ie entire wheells http://www.lfgss.com/thread111072.html#post3740096. (Two wheels for 80 cash monies) orrr
http://www.lfgss.com/thread110912.html#post3735442.Or, check out some of the rims on velodromeshop. Some people on this forum have had issues with velodrome shop, but personally, I haven't.
Hope this helps?

ftfy; "Fixie" is quite a frowned upon word on this forum.
Why is fixie frowned upon?
-
• #6034
It needs to be prefixed with "rad" and spelled "fixeh".

Hi,
Moving to London in September for Art College and planning on getting a bike for commuting.
Been reading a lot of stuff on the site, gathering some information before I start building.
Cheers

Hey hey. Returning to the fold after a long absence doing exercise on two legs rather than two wheels. I'm sure my bank manager won't like me any more (did he ever?), but 2 wheels is defo more fun.

howdy partners
thought I'd join this nice forum, been riding bikes for a long time, recently a super ghetto single speed conversion of an old halfords road bike that I got for free
also like to work on bikes mostly for my own needs, trying to build a fixed gear bike for getting around town

Hi Guys, was a mtn biker for ages till it got nicked then bought a cheap chinese fixie, which got nicked. Enjoyed the ss so much bought a lovely little 650 Orbit TT bike that had bee turned into a ss.
Just bought a principia 650 frame and looking to build another bike. Stupid me as 650c gear seems to be like rocking horse poo. Anyone got some cheap 650 wheels?
C ya out there -

Hi Guys,
I've just signed up to your website and I thought I'd come say "Hello". As you will see from my name, I'm 'A Proud American' through and through. I've been here in Great Britain for a few years now and have grown to love your kooky ways like the utter refusal to get excited, no matter how awesome something is. Gee, that took some getting used to, I thought you were all soooo sarcastic to begin with. Anyway, I live in Islington, ride a bike through the City daily and hope to catch up with you guys sometime.
I got someone bawling 'Do A Skid!' at me the other day, maybe I have already encountered a LFGSS rider. Sadly I didn't 'Make Their Day' as at 250lbs I ride with brakes and conserve my tyres as much as possible.
Next time Homeboy, next time.

Merica.
Welcome. -
• #6044
Hello to you Snottyotter.
I know that when people say Merica they are thinking of the chunky Sheriff with his fingers as a gun 'PEW PEW', I've been that man (not sheriff, but US military). I went from a rugged and tough 20 yr old to a fat and unhealthy 35 yr old under their watchful eye. Now I'm older and wiser I see beauty within. Come, visit me in the yoga thread.

I want a big merican hug, poor ChainBreaker might have some competition.
-
• #6047
I do not know Chainbreaker, though maybe I could experience and evaluate their hugging technique. If it is of adequate performance maybe we could join to form a formidable team. Conversely, if the hug in question is poorly executed then I could offer tutoring. Generally people struggle to encompass me fully, such is my girth.
