interesting marcotti article on the Bale Situation he knows more about their deals and wages than I do... Which is a good thing..
http://www.espn.co.uk/football/sport/story/226315.html
"That said, every indication coming out of Spain is that the bid - if it exists - is not exclusively a cash one. It's Angel Di Maria, Fabio Coentrao and £38m in exchange for Bale. Implicit in all this is that Di Maria and Coentrao are worth £45m combined.
That makes a huge difference. And you can see why Levy might have been rather more impressed with an £82m cash bid than what he supposedly received.
Cash is something you can use to buy what you want. If you happen to want Di Maria and Coentrao and you think they are worth £45m [or more], then they're as good as cash. If not, you're losing out.
Both Coentrao and Di Maria are 25. They are locked into deals through 2017 and 2018, respectively, which means that if you sign them, you're committing to more than £60m in combined wages during the next five years. That rather reduces your wiggle room." -

and there's always theo walcott - southampton still have a similar clause in place should the arsenal forward ever leave the emirates.

So the worst kept secret in football is finally out
Fuck me, did anyone really think that Bale wouldn't wanna go to Real Madrid and that Levy would refuse anything over £50m??

nice article from four four two, shouldn't they change their title to four three three, or four two three one, anyway, all about the information dissemination by chairman, players, agents and journo's, in the transfer rumour machine..

just so the above article doesn't provoke a heart attack in old man TS,
leak and counter leak, it seems we're willing to deal Bale but only for cash plus Real's top youth prospect. Stakes is high.http://www.theguardian.com/football/2013/jul/31/tottenham-gareth-bale-alvaro-morata
not sure if this is designed to scare off Real or force them to go all in with the cash. But sure Morata's wages would be nothing close to Coentrao's or Di Maria's and he fits the bill of young, up and coming player with resell value, once he hits his peak..
Also the selling of Caulker looks like a misstep as we only have Dawson to lead the line in defense as Kaboul is still returning from injury, Big V has just been injured and we haven't bought in any replacements.. Time to spend the money early in the window only a month and a bit till the start of the season..

Lot of premier league clubs just pissing in the wind with their scatter gun approach to signing players. Would like to see if Arsenal have a plan or just don't know how to spend money. Spurs should have put Bale up for sale in May and had fucking done with it, who are they trying to fool? Levy runs a tight ship but year after year he just blows it when it comes to big sales. Shame to lose Suarez from the prem but hope we see the back of his ugly face. Wenger certainly couldn't handle him.
I predict a very exciting chase for the top but a rare dull year at the bottom with Sunderland doing everything in their power to get relegated but failing again. Can't wait for the Di Canio car crash.
Off to Portugal now, back in time for kick off.

Bale could fill the gap at Real Madrid that has been waiting to be filled since little Michael Owen left them.

It is funny how Tottenham have gone from being an aggressive buying club to little more than an academy side and a graveyard for older players.
what do you think?
