hmm... pleasingly, there's enough in common between my Shimano 135deg front noodle and the 90deg Tektro adjustable noodle that I can swap the innards around and get a 135deg adjustable noodle:
Excuse rubbish phone photo.
And ebay just emailed - I won the skewers!

Ah well, keep yer head down, and keep pedalling.
Yep... and hope the Crag Inn is still serving good beer...

Also Ship Inn at Wincle not too far off route, good food and some guest ales.

Nice, will probably be heading past there, this might turn into a bit of a soggy pub crawl.

135 deg Shimano/Tektro bodge noodle on the front:
and the blue headset together with 3T tape that I spotted in Noca's thread:
http://www.lfgss.com/post3682891-55.html
and the skewers...
My 90s MTB revival effort is starting to feel a bit more accomplished.
I've not had chance to adjust the noodles yet, they feel a bit cheap (sticky thread) compared to a decent brake lever, but hey, adjustment is adjustment so I am pleased to finally get them, thanks again for the recommendations!

Looks real nice. Wasn't sure about the black/blue when you started, but it's a grower. Particularly that bar tape. Now ready for the oncoming shitty weather. Enjoy.

When does a project stop being a project and just become a maintenance chore? For christmas I got a blue Hope BB to match the other stuff; given the previous BB was absolutely fine, this cannot be classed as maintenance and must be a project pimp!
So, here's a couple of phone photos from a ride down the TPT tonight:

paininthe - have you gone for it and got one?
- Tektro RL520s plus v-brakes = no barrel adjusters. In a recent longish, wet, hilly ride I shredded so much pad I nearly ran out of lever, but was too cold to stop to adjust the cables ... hence, I really missed barrel adjusters.
Forgot all about this, yes, didn't ride it - so sold it on.
I used the inline adjusters, work really well.

Really love the blue on your bike , it works well .
I know what you mean I'm always thinking about what I could up grade on my cc . Want new brakes , and may a front rack not sure what type . -

The blue is looking good! What cranks are they?
Edit: just seen the photos on the first page, Alfine...

out of interest, how come you didn't use it? The Cross Check dilemma seems to be that although it is the 'do anything' bike then equally it isn't necessarily that great at anything... for me it fills the hole between my town bike and my full-suss MTB, so it gets a fair bit of use (winter commutes, day rides, weekending and eventually hopefully a longer tour). But I could see that if I had a few other nice bikes (roadie, tourer, winter bike, etc) I don't think I'd use the CC. Yet some CC owners, even with many bikes, still say the CC is their 'go to' ride that they prefer over their niche bikes... not sure I'm convinced by that!
I like the silver parts you had on your build, I think that offsets the black frame nicely.

It has been a good frame for teaching myself about bike fixing, that's for sure. I think a summer mini-project for me will be to try some fat MTB-ish tyres and some riser bars, and try cruising some of the easier Peak District bridleways that otherwise aren't worth the effort on my Camber.
Have you got the CC with the forks with the eyelets for a front rack? I haven't... and was also wondering about a front rack for light touring... I read some good stuff about this Nashbar rack, which fits to the v-brake bosses. Certainly cheap!

yeah, Alfine... I was amazed by how cheap they were including the BB (off Rose Bikes) ... I guess you save quite a bit when you don't need the profiled teeth / ramps / pegs / etc for a crankset designed for shifting?

Randomly clicking thru some old links, I spotted that the Beam+ is now available in blue!
Slightly the wrong shade, I hope, so I don't have to buy it...
