Don't put it beyond Real Madrid to sign both Suarez and Bale.
Galacticos often come in multiples.

I dont think even Perez can stump up that amount of cash - given Isco and Illaramendi
Unless they sell say: pepe/khedira/di maria

2009: Kaka, Ronaldo, Alonso, Benzema (£200m+ in one summer)

• #84930
But yes, you'd expect them to sell at least di Maria, Khedira and Pepe (problem is - who would want the c*nt?)
-
• #84931
Yeah - but net they got rid of a lot at that time. Probably closer to 100m. So far it's only Higuain (admittedly at a great price/profit!)
I think they'd have to sell a couple before they brought more in
Oh actually Albiol and that other attacker to Napoli..hmmm maybe you're right!

Man City are bang up for a bit of Pepe apparently (paper talk) especially as that young guy got injured the other day and Fat boy Toure got sold to Liverpool

Spurs - Bale > LFC - Suarez
Irrespective of the transfer fees involved.
Spurs have bough already to replace Bale whereas Liverpool have got a handful of strikers that nobody really wants.we aren't looking to sell any strikers
we have the usual premiershit quota of 4 as opposed to last seasons 1.5 or sometimes 1 -

Are you referring to our Champions League, Europa League, FA Cup and European Championship winning striker?

I wonder if bookies still offer odds for a Suarez/Bale to RM double transfer to be concluded before the transfer window shuts.

Real Madrid have ALOT of assets! Di Maria, Khedira, Ozil, Pepe, Kaka, Coentrao, Modric, to name the ones that seem available.
Was reading in the whispers Guardian about the problems of players plus cash. It all comes down to wages, most players not wanting to get paid less to be a makeweight in another players transfer, so its about matching their wage demands to balance out the outgoing wages. So lets for instance say we are offered Di Maria and Coentrao for Bale, their combined wages are going to have to come to the same amount as Bale's and I'm pretty sure that's not going to happen.
And despite what some fans think/want to happen, think most of this money will be reinvested into the stadium redevelopment which is underway. But its money that would be foregone if we can keep Bale, added to our other squad improvements to make another run for the champions league. As the potential earnings from that, plus the raising of profile would allow us to attract a better class of player, with the eventual money from Bale's sale..

(1) Do you really think a club would pay £40m+ "pretty much just to fuck arsenal over"? I don't.
(2) Given that Arseanl were the difference between UEFA and CL even if (1) was true it would make perfect sense.
(3) Doing what you need to to get in the CL is not really "proper small club mentality" is it?
1 no not in any way, the rumour just amused me.. plus the opportunity to have a little dig...
why you take the fun out of everything I don't know

Corndog, Spuds = Selling club, Levy is there to make sure the club stays financially sound. Bale is gone. The club will reinvest a maximum of 50% the transfer fee and probably have a more balanced team/squad next season. It's a win-win situation.
There's absolutely no guarantee that Madrid would come back with a similar offer next year and fwiw £80m+ for a winger is nuts, more so when his play is based on speed rather than skill. -

I'm surprised we're selling Caulker to Cardiff in order to swap a young english CB for a young foreign one. Seems a bit short sighted.
-
• #84944
wonder how cr7 will take being the no.2 at madrid now ?
toys and pram ?
-
• #84945
Yarklad, as far as I'm aware we're not selling Caulker, with the release of Gallas and the injury (albeit slight) keeping Vertonghen out of action for the beginning of the season, our CB pairing will probably be Kaboul and Caulker

BBC are reporting fee agreed:
teven Caulker is close to agreeing a move from Tottenham to Cardiff City.
BBC Wales understands the clubs have agreed a fee in excess of £8m for the England defender, and that he is undergoing a medical in Cardiff.
Caulker, 21, spent a season on loan with Swansea City in 2011-12, playing 26 times as the Swans survived their first season in the Premier League.
Manager Malky Mackay is known to be keen on strengthening the Bluebirds defence for their Premier League debut.
If the deal goes through, Caulker would be Mackay's fourth signing of the summer after he steered the club to the Championship title last season. It would also be a club record transfer fee for Cardiff. -

Shit, the Guardian didn't publish their story in time for Corny to copy and paste it?!
