My fathers bike has just been stolen from a village not too far from Epping:
LOOK 60cm Alloy frame with carbon rear end
Blue which fades to black in the middle of the alloy tubes then back to blue with white LOOK decals. Rear triangle solid blue. Seat tube has 3 stripes (Pale yellow, silver and red) around the bottle cage mount.
8 speed 105 flightdeck groupset
ITM Stem, alloy drops, black tape, Toe Clips and alloy pedals (not in picture)
He had the Garmin mount on the bars (but not the garmin attatched, thankfully) and there was a saddle bag of tools/tube/levers attatched. Thanks!
Sorry for the poor photo but its all I have at the mo.

Ouch, I think you are doing all can be done, unique bike so good luck
Anyone got any tips for tracking it down? Things I have done:
- Reported it to the police
- Reported it missing on Bike Shepherd (it was tagged with a cycle revolution tag) and Bike Register
- Fliered the area with "MISSING" posters asking for a £300 reward
- Put saved searches on Ebay and Gumtree for keywords relating to a red bike/lombardi bike
- Contacted a lot of London based bike shops with details of the bike
- Bought google ad words for keywords to do with the bike (hoping the thief will google for the bike - the ads talk about the £300 reward for return and link to the Bike Shepherd page
I am going to also go to a lot of markets this weekend that have bike sellers to give them a flier and to see what's going on there (any suggestions for the best ones to go to?)
- Reported it to the police

Although I have lost hope of getting my Surly Crosscheck back I am still keeping an eye out on the alerts I have setup. I have seen a few possibilities recently but they have all been advertised as a frame different size. And it always seems like 58cm is the most popular.
Is it worth checking out a possible match regardless of size advertised?

Yes.

Follow the money... Surely some stolen bikes and parts are shifted abroad, but not all. And yes, it's a right pain in the arse for good people, but somehow we must challenge online and car boot sellers, not to mention our own moral and ethical standards when buying or being offered secondhand merchandise often at ridicules prices.

Someone has stolen two bikes from right outside my front door. I live in a building whereby you have to use key fobs to swipe in. There are cameras everywhere, but the concierge couldn't find anything on the CCTV. I am so sad. I have reported it to the police, but can't imagine anything is going to turn up. Apparently I am the fifth person to have their bike stolen in the recent weeks, so it sounds like a proper operation.
They were stolen either on Friday or Saturday from Palmers Road, Bethnal Green.
One is a black Orlowski, the frame has been wrapped in black tape, and the other a vintage brown ladies mixte with basket. I'm trying to find some pictures to upload. Just feel so stupid! -

This happened thrice to a bloke in my block (behind Tesco off Canrobert Street).
He went to each local school (pretending he saw them and the school uniform - realise school is out so may not work) and spoke in morning g assembly say if bike/ bikes returned he would leave be.
Bell rang, no answer, goes down, bikes there.School out so may not work.
He was a luge fucker and proper east end so probly scared them in assembly; if you're a skinny middle class white boy I advise contacting the POlice xSomeone has stolen two bikes from right outside my front door. Have a picture if you need it
Bike was stolen from a house at the bottom of Bushey Hill Road (Camberwell/Peckham) night of 23rd July/morning of Monday 24th July along with another bike. Really gutted as it was inside my sister's house entrance which is shared by one other flat - thought this would be safe, but they were obviously watching bikes going in and out for a while waiting to take them. This nullifies my insurance, obviously :(
I had it custom made at Racer Rosa so it's got a massive amount of sentimental value to me (it's genuinely the only possession I really have any care over). It's a Lombardi frame, columbus tubing, with miche doing all the other bits and really nice quill seat post.
Anyone got any tips for tracking it down? Things I have done:

I don't know what stage of loss I am at - but it seems to be hypo-manic.
