Beautiful frames, started in the fifties
Earlier than that, my dad's Rotrax is a 1948.

Just reviving this thread a bit, as I have recently bought a second hand Rotrax bike, and would like to know a bit more.
It's a track bike, reynolds 531 "designer select" tubing, with campagnolo record hubs (the older ones with the oil hole), and Miche Primato crankset. Tubular rims, which I'll be swapping out for clinchers.
Once I get it, I'll post up a few pictures, but when I take delivery, what should I look and check for specifically?
Is there any way to tell what year (or era) the bike was made?
Thanks.
Edit: The lug work looks just like the first picture at the top (gold lined). The overall paint job is different, but the lug work is the same (if that helps at all in identification).

I had my eye on that one. There will be a serial number on the bottom bracket that will let you work out the year of manufacture.
Every Rotrax I have had has been fantastic, i'm sure you will be very happy with it.

Awesome, thanks for letting me know, I'll check it out.
Why didn't you end up buying it? Can't wait to ride it... :)

Believe me I wanted to, I have an unfortunate ( or fortunate ?) Rotrax addiction that doesn't need feeding. I have 3 already and had to stop myself adding to the collection.
just posted about these guys in another thread...
In the Bob Jackson / Witcomb frenzy these guys seem to have been missed..
Beautiful frames, started in the fifties and still making classics...if you've seen Simon's down at HH you'll no doubt agree!
