  • Will anyone be bringing a pump this evening?

  • I have a track pump down there which you can use.

  • Perfect. Thanks

  • Had shit for legs tonight, felt rubbish - nice to meet a few people from here again

  • That was so much fun, just what you're itching for after moving through basic..

  • What disciplines did you do?

  • We did scratch, points, keirin, scratch ... I think.

  • yep to race order

  • I am going to go down for my first race training tonight. Anybody know what I am likely to be doing?

  • Riding around in a circle.

It'll be some scratch races mixed up with some other bits. Last week was keirin and points, the week before was sprints... So it will be devil/Madison/win out probably

I'm in Wales this week - will be down next Monday.

  • Won't be madison as that's first monday of the month.

  • Out tonight, came back from france at 1am last night on motorbike, knackered...
    Have fun everybody, be safe...

    L

  • Nice to meet a few more forum track people last night- beautiful evening too

  • I am going to go down for my first race training tonight. Anybody know what I am likely to be doing?

You'll be arranged into groups according to skin colour, then taught how to conform to a particular stereotype.

Whatever you do, try to avoid getting put into the group they call 'couriers'. They are the lowest on the pecking order.

    Race training.

  • First time back on the track last night after that crash a few weeks ago at League. I only had a little tumble and got away with a fractured rib.
Was great to be back on, but now I've got the fear. Gonna take a few weeks to be comfortable riding on wheels again, even though that wasn't what the cause was.
I got totally owned in every training drill last night, except match sprint.

  • Does anyone have any idea what drills are happening tomorrow night? I won't be able to make it until about 7.20-7.30 but if there are drills involving standing starts then I could use the practice.

  • There will be a team sprint (to get ready for the Grupetto Open Season, http://www.hernehillvelodrome.com/racing_events/track_racing/open_season/). You'll probably only get one go per person/team on the main track. But the more experienced group will do some standing start stuff on the junior track.

For anyone who has been doing these sessions for most of the year and not yet tried track league: do it! Season hire bikes are available if you don't own your own (you can't use the regular hire bikes for races), and this year there is a C category for less experienced/fast riders - if you can keep up on Mondays you'd be more than fast enough. You have no excuse not to try it.

If I haven't convinced you then come down and watch one evening and you'll see for yourselves (and probably enjoy watching it)

  • I'll be down tomorrow. John and I are looking for a third man for the team sprint if anyone is interested?

  • Might come down tomorrow night then if I can find some new cleats by then!!!!

  • Thoroughly enjoyed myself tonight. Less people and more breaks is ideal for me. Justnneed to increase my fitness by about 50%

  • Tonight was cool! Have to admit I only came for the sprint training but I managed to win the 10 lap scratch and chased some of the breaks in the others. The dude with red Planet X was crazy fast!!!!!!! Just a shame about everyone getting soaked on the way home, hehehehehe!!!!!!!!!!!! :-)

  • Also, for Rob and anyone else wanting to attach straps to their pedals...

  • Anyone got any idea what will be on the cards tomorrow night? Any cheeky sprint stuff at all?

  • Think it's Madison Monday
