Agreed ... there is no way that wheel spins!?
Nice ride though.. shame about the back break altogether.
Shame about the rear brake? What, from an aesthetics point of view?! That's funny.
Yep, it spins, indented seat tube as so...

Tighter clearance on the chainstays than the seat tube. I'm using the ACS Claw freewheel, much better than the shimano jobby I have on my SS 29er for the same price and makes a great noise.

I thought it must have an indented seat tube but it wasn't quiet clear from the far off photo. what size is it? a 58cm?

For my freewheels I use lower end Campagnolo 8 speed hubs with one cog and spacers.
I used to run Dicta freewheels on single speed hubs but didn't like how they felt.
The Campy hubs are much superior in the rolling department (perhaps Shimano ones also?) plus i get to retain the use of the quick release.
And the clincher (no pun intended) is the fact that i can swiftly swap out cogs depending on how my legs feel on the day.
The only down side is that on 2 of my conversions i have had to fit ugly arse chain tensioners because of the vertical drop-outs, these do not affect performance IMO.

Pimp? what is pimp? a chap that lives off of immoral earnings?
It's a bike that is very light and very fast and is a single speed conversion and gets lots of admiring looks and is more impressive than your shopping trolly...
The Sun is out today and off i go on the Anti-pimp!

The title of the thread is "who has the pimpest singlespeed" not "who has the most boring conversion..."
Ugly chain tensioner is ugly.
And if we're slinging shit, change your cog depending on how your legs are feeling? Derailleurs do that.
Also, the shopping trolley is the girlfriends shopper, unless its off-road then singlespeed is for girls.
Are you mistaking questioning looks as admiring?!

It's 56 x 55 from memory.

What freewheels are people using? I used to run my Fuji SS with a BMX one and it sounded like I was dragging a bag of gritty hammers around behind me.
you have to get an eno. everything else feels like a shopping bag full of nails inside your hub.

Ha yes! Purely aesthetics.. but light heartedly and not meant in 'breakless is the only way' douche-baggery. I just find riding with a front break and tightly cut cable to be personally sufficient.
Nice tight clearance though, had us all fooled.

Front brake only on a single speed is a bit dodgy, but then it's your bike so do what thou wilt.

Agreed, for when the cable snaps.
Then it's time to burn shoe leather or walk home. -

Not keen on that myself either. Aesthetically speaking it's two brakes or no brakes for me.

Only just seen this, thanks. That bell was the perfect example of getting carried away on eBay. Would be embarrassed to say how much I bid for it.

Fixed trainer rather than SS no?

ah shit, yes it is.

Yeah but so is tilover's bike.
It has two brakes and would look identical if it was freewheel, so it is very welcome here.

I like this thread. Seen a pompino for sale recently that probably belongs here.
I've got a shitty Dicta freewheel on mine, they're cheap but this one has been reliable and is totally silent. I fully expect it to stop engaging correctly sometime soon but for now it's just fine. As there's apparently Readers' Wives allowed here, and a request for vintage just a few posts ^^^ then I'm gonna lay my conversion down.
