  • If im using sram rival levers and a compact crankset whats the cheapest way to get a 12-32 compatible rear mech? The wifli mechs are pretty expensive

Assuming you have a short cage Rival mech .. This has a quoted chain wrap capacity of 33T. The difference at the front is 50-34 = 16 teeth. And 32-12 = 20 teeth. Giving a total requirement of 36 teeth. You do not have enough capacity ignoring the position of the mech in relation to the cassette - which is where the longer hanger that Dammit mentioned was used to space the mech away from the cassette. You may be able to squeeze a little extra capacity from the mech by changing the standard 11 tooth jockey wheels to Campagnolo or equivalent 10 tooth jockey wheels. But I'm not sure how much extra you'll get. You need wifli or a Sram 10speed mtb mech which has a nicer cable entry then road mechs to be sure if you want this low gearing.
