Brilliant! Maybe we need a public information film ride. We can dress up like it's 1985 and go swimming in chalk pits, kite-flying next to electricity pylons and round it off with a few sparklers.

Such a shame. Weather depending, I'm wondering about another one on weekend of 7/8 Sept. Or maybe a slackers one, one weekday, maybe to Saltdean lido?

On a positive note, the forecast for Sunday is getting better and better. Still a bit blowy but threat of rain seems to have pretty much receded. Have sort of lost track of who is going or not, but I will be by Pub in the Park at 8 on Sunday morning with my swimmng things - hoping to see some people there.

I would love to come but I will be away for the weekend & visiting someone in hospital.

This is a smashing ride and I wish I were doing it again. Really good fun and so nice to have a goal/activity at the end.

I'm still planning on coming. Will be on gears if that's all right? my knee had a strop on the dun run and I've just finished building up my touring road bike ~

Katy - It's probably worth acknowledging now that I'd certainly not going to be up at 6.45 to make the 8am start... I'll likely just have to wait for the acid to wear off then head out in the afternoon for some exciting 'training' down in Kent or something...
