LEL 2013 / London - Edinburgh - London Audax

It was slow...prob 7.5 hours maybe a little more? I have read a few reports of the Garmin 800 running out of juice within 8 hours if you have map display on constantly...

I've never had a great experience of battery life on my 800 compared to my old 700. I struggle to get much more than 12 hours on it so maybe something is wrong with it.

Mine would typically be running out around the 12hr mark. That's about what I'd expect given a 'claimed' battery life of 14hr (I think).
