While it is hard sometimes to accept driver behavior (which many cyclists experience as threatening, dangerous, even murderous sometimes with intent), drivers often don't understand the consequence of their actions nor intend or wish to hurt anyone and when they do suffer terribly.

A lot of anger -cyclist hatred from drivers (and their complaints -rljing, road tax, riding on the pavement, riding in the middle of the road, insurance etc) is due to a fear of hurting someone. This has come out at some driver on-bike training sessions which help drivers understand more about being on a bike.
