• ***** HAVE NOW FOUND A LOVELY BIKE. THANKS EVERYONE FOR ALL YOUR OFFERS & HELP ************

I cycle 60 miles a week and am currently using a single speed that I bodged together (cheap 80s frame, relatively cheap components.) It's not the smoothest ride but it is fairly light and the frame is gorgeous looking, despite it's quality.

The bottom bracket has just gone and the cost of repair will probably exceed the value of the bike, so I have regrettably decided to say goodbye to it and upgrade to something more efficient and reliable.

I'm looking to spend between £300 - £550 on a single speed/fixed gear (I don't come across any hills on my ride tow work), lightweight, 50-53 cm frame.

I strongly believe in function over form, however, as I was so fond of the aesthetics of my old frame I would find it hard to settle for something that was less easy on the eye. (Thin tubing and feminine colourways would be my preference.)

I've been looking at this bianchi pista but I think it's too expensive for what it is:

Any advice or suggestions would be much appreciated and I look forward to hearing from anyone who has a bike that fulfils my requirements.

    Thanks,
    .
    Katy
