Am preparing a custom deck for my 8 year old son. He has a proper 80s freestyle board already (7x27, I wanted him to have a board suitable for his size to start out on, it's been a really good beginning), now I want to build him a kind of 70 bowl board/cruiser cos he wants his freestyle board to have loose trucks and soft wheels, so I reckoned I should just build him a mini 'long' board for that. Nice and flexy, super-responsive modern longboard trucks and sticky slalom type wheels.
Does anyone know if a woodstain finish is hard to do? The deck is all pressed* and ready to cut, just drawing shapes on it right now.
What freestyle deck does he have? This is my old Sims Pierre Andre from the 80s:
Woodstain is pretty easy. Are you using wood oil, or lacquer, or whatever? I'd avoid varnish.
