Frame Paintwork ' Signature '

  • Dear All,

I have used the search function.

Anyone know a decent london based frame painter, not talking about colourways and powder coating, want someone who can just paint a plain signature onto the top tube of my frame, as a commemorative nod to me ole Grandad (who passed recently).

    Cheers,

    Iain

  • You'd be a lot better off getting vinyl lettering from somewhere like this:

I've used them several times, they are quick and do exactly what they say they do.

  • Or ask V-L on here

  • It is possible to use vinyl lettering in reverse as a stencil .

Use the vinyl sheet the letters were cut from as a mask - you will need position the centres of some letters (e.g. 'o' ) with some care, but it can be done.

Once the stencil is in position spray with paint which has good opacity (silver, gold, black - avoid white or yellow) you need to get coverage with a minimum of build up of paint.

Make sure paint is thoroughly dry before removing vinyl stencil. A final coat of lacquer may be helpful.

Don't forget to make sure the original paint is thoroughly cleaned before applying the stencil.

  • Give these guys a call...
