  • Funny how the one of the most derogatory words used by a lot of males is one of the most sought after things by well...males.

    You sexist cunt.

  • cunt we all just get along?

  • No, I think the best way is to say hello to the person, in a totally non-confrontational way, smile and nod and say 'alright? you pulled out on me a bit quick back there' or whatever. It takes alot of self control when you are fuming from a near miss, but it's worth the effort, because the person will actually listen to you. The thing is not to approach them assuming that they are an idiot or did it on purpose, even though it may seem that way.

I often shout obscenities and immediately regret it, realising what a total Steven Fry I have been.

    This is, sadly, not true.

I have calmly asked a chap to pull over and then explained why I had an issue with his driving- all very non-confrontational.

He pulled his van over onto the median and we had a chat.

I (in the spirit of extreme yoghurt weaving) suggested that he try a cycle training session to see the world from the other side of the steering wheel, which I would arrange and pay for.

His response was that he didn't see why he should do that, and he'd do the same thing again- and if he killed someone "well I'd just do the time".

So- my conclusion is reason is wasted, if the person has behaved badly enough to endanger you or yours then suck it up, or pull them out of the car and express your displeasure physically.

  • fwiw if someone i don't know has done something to make me angry enough to call them a cunt in a non-joking way (i.e. when it's clearly not banter with mates) then you can bet they fucking deserved it.

and in my opinion people use cunt because it's the last taboo, it's the only word with enough gravitas to convey just how fucking annoyed/angry you are at the persons actions without spouting a load of hugh grant style gosh chaps lets not get in a tizz over this but you jolly well done me blimmin wrong back there 'safe' invective that ends up sounding more like an apology than a telling off.

That wasn't you, that was RPM.

(He'll be along in a moment to claim responsibility.)

  • Coming from a motorbiking background gives you a lot of awareness of the road, other users, traffic, how to position yourself and most important the suicide look. Which for cyclists should also be called the murder look cos plenty of them don't do it and you end up having to evade them because they aren't checking what's behind them...

Of course not the case with everyone but in London there are plenty of idiots, especially when the sun comes out.

  • I think that's a generalisation- plenty of terrible motorcyclists out there, and the scooter drivers are, if anything, worse.

Motorcyclists also seem to delight in the "punishment pass" for daring to be in primary in a bus lane.

  • Also, is it a rule that a motorcycle rider must, in general, weigh more than his or her motorocycle?

  • Besides often blocking the ASL entry point and the odd fast pass, motorcyclists are generally the most sensible road users in my experience. Awareness of vulnerability combined with education perhaps? Scooters on the other hand seem almost as feral as cyclists..

  • What the world needs is more generalization.

  • People who use an American "z" instead of a proper "s" are cunts.

  • Cuntz.

  • People who use an American "z" instead of a proper "s" are cunts.

People who assume 'z' is American, when in fact it's the Oxford English Dictionary standard, are also cunts.
