I would see it as recommending a more suitable bike for a club ride.

It's a temporary solution to a temporary problem, i can ride just fine brakeless, all 3 bikes i own are brakeless, but when your riding with roadies with a club i think its a pretty idea to stick one on there, to avoid skids and so on.

Surely one of your 3 brakeless steeds would be drilled for a brake and therefore more suitable for putting a brake on for a club ride?
