• This is perhaps a long-shot:

I have a pair of almost mint 170mm super record pista cranks that I'm considering swapping-out for the modern version. (144bcd, normal pedal threads)
Mainly because the old ones are in such good condition for their age and I'm worried about shagging them up in a crash..
And I may as well get 165's whilst I'm at it, so I can ride indoors when they finish the olympic velodrome.

Cranks only, unless you happen to have a new-ish 50t chainring.

    Here's what mine look like:

    here's what I'm after:

I have no idea if I can use the same BB with both sets... please enlighten me.

  • The old record/super record (yours chainring should be a record one, not super record that is like this http://subtle.org/se/gallery/bikes/packaging/sr_pista_front.jpg.html, the arm should be the same) wants 109mm BB ( splindle with old campa logo stamped P) instead the new one wants 111mm BB (splindle with new campa logo stamped SP or SPc).

  • Thanks for the info!
Guess I'd be swapping the BB's too then.

    (chainring not included, btw)

  • Bump

  • Did you manage to sort this out? I'm looking to do the same thing but 170 for 170 and not as shiny.

  • I just sold my SR ones in the end... haven't got new ones yet.

  • Fair enough, I might have to do the same and try and not spend the money on useless things before something I want comes up.
