• this one.
I need it. Saw one recently and nearly stopped the guy to try and buy it off him.
    Cheers.
it will match my road bike CAAD4, perfectly:

will pay cash money- to a certain extent, as they are pretty old now.

  • this is the precise one.
    porn or what?

i'd ideally like the v brake version, and it must be hardtail.

  • £500 worth of brakes and cranks on the one above so you may need to pay a chunk o' cash, despite them being 'pretty old now'.

Those were the team colours for a while and they built a lot of MTBs, including lower ranfe ones, in that colourway. Enough about though. Good luck n that.

  • thats the newer one I think- disc brakes not Vs.
    Saw it on ebay earlier,
    cheers though!

  • Fast road bike, that is ;)

  • Sorry, thought it was just the colour you were after!

  • Be **very careful buying one of these. Headshock (and leftys) forks run on around 80 ball bearings and are subject to wear. I saw bikes with headshock fatty's that were only a few years old coming into my local c-dale shop and being totally f*ed. The fancy hollow cnc cranks also had a reputation for splitting. High end cannondale xc bikes were notoriously fragile too. This bike is from 1999 and if you manage to find one in good knick you'll be really lucky. Incidentally this isn't the top of the range model - there is an F4000.

    good luck.

  • no worries-

this is close, its going out of my budget tho...
    also too small i think.

completely different frame - replaced the Beast of the East, trials frameset.

  • Way old post but I have this bike if your dream still exists to own it. I am on the verge of revamping it to a commuter bike...

  • ^ Let's have some pics :)

  • the martyn ashton specials are very nice bikes

  • Lovely.
    What size is that?

  • I only had a chance to make a single measurement, top tube, center of seat post to center of head tube, is 22". I can't find what size that makes it. I am 5'9" and it fits well.

  • Probably a medium.

  • interested to see what this goes for, dream bike when i was young

  • I converted it to be a dual purpose bike. It now has 2 wheelsets, one with low volume tires for CX and one with large volume tires for mountain biking. I also upgraded the derailleur to SRAM X.O as well as matching grip shifters. New cassette, chain and chainrings.
I raced it a couple times and it's tough to keep up on the trails during straightaways because 700c tires are too advantageous. If only the courses were slightly more rugged and had more turns and obstacles, this would be perfect.
I couldn't tell you what's its worth. I don't think I'd sell it at this point unless the price was right :)
