new place in Ancoats, http://www.koffeelock.com/ seems ok if a bit quiet. Off my beaten track but maybe close to others's?
Was in there the other day, good food, clean toilets and filter coffee for a quid....bargain. Nice comfy leather chairs too.
Took the bikes inside and they didn't bat an eye lid.

Is this idea still on the cards? I'm really interested in this.
-

It's little more than an idea atm. I also love northern tea power, and bold street coffee in liverpool. I'd love a plae that puts together the 3 joys in my life, coffee, cycling and beer (possibly some disco as well). I'll keep you in the know about any developments, fingers crossed.
Is anyone serious about opening another bike cafe in Manchester?

I'm at rfts Bristol. Manchester really could support something like this/lmnh (in a prime location).

^ not meaning to discredit pop-up which is already doing great, hopefully they could grow to become a real go-to place in Manchester, I.e. packed out at lunchtime, lots of evening events going on etc

I'd like to see that too, but it does need booze. I might drink coffee at lunch but at an evening event I'd more than likely want a beer/something alcoholic.
However, it's probably difficult and expensive to get an alcohol licence and it's probably a financial risk they don't want to take.

You can take your own for events, or if you're nice to Dip and bring him a couple you can usually have a few in the afternoon.

Popup is too fucking far away.
Like it though. Needs more signage so you know where to put your bike when you roll in for the first time.

I just ghost my bike through the door and where it falls is where it stays.

Is this going anywhere, would be great tonsee it happen.

Just been to popup bikes yesterday. Guy seems to know a bit about the fixed scene in Manchester which is more than I can say for most bike shops in manch but there you go.
Anyway the owner (Dipak I think he's called) is way friendly and keen to talk about anything. The place is cool but does smell a bit like damp when you walk in... Just because of the location and stuff. But it's great. I will go there again just to hang out and if I bump into other fixie riders great! But unfortunately the coffee ain't as good as ntp (north tea power) but then their standard is pretty high.I am really excited that there's a lot of chatter about this subject! I myself and a finatic about coffee and actually want to open my own coffee shop running coffee like ntp but also with a lot for cyclists and repairs... But this may not happen soon :/ need to get a business plan together etc first.

Double espresso and a chocolate muffin with a gooey middle were surprisingly cheap and very welcome when I went there.
Wifi slow but strong and free.

If you ever have time to ride out try polocini in romiley. Best coffee and cake I've found. Shows all the racing and walls are covered in jerseys

Latest Waffa mailout states that they'll be opening one of these in the coming year. When/Where is not confirmed mind. The unit they had the Sample sale in is still vacant? A possibility?
-

Chatting to one of the sample sale staff (all were either staff or riders from their London Cycle Club, by the way) on Sunday after closing, I found that Rapha had secured the lease on the property that's to become the Manchester cycle club just a few days ago (to quote, "...two days ago," on Sunday 02-02-2014).
Also, it isn't going to be in NQ, but the dude could not recall exactly where.
I ran through a few locations, and (allegedly) it's most likely to be in Spinningfields or Exchange Square. Keep eyes open. -

I figured Rapha was a bit too posh for the Northern Quarter.
