Hey, I've got a bit of a curious story regarding my stolen bike and wondered if any of you have been in similar situations and could offer any advice..? Bit of a long post, but bear with me...
Our house was burgled a month ago (live in Holloway) and my single speed was pinched. I filed a report with the police the next day.
Imagine, as I turned onto my street 10 days ago, my shock to see a short, but absolute bruiser of a geezer (very distinctive tattoos, haircut, clothing) wheeling my bike down our road! Got some real bad vibes coming from this guy so I followed him at a distance to see where he went but managed to lose him. Did he go into a house a few streets away? Why was he wheeling it? (Unless he was close to home or bike was damaged?)
This was 100% my bike and, updating the police and crime ref, I know now to call 999 if I see anyone with it again. It's Bike Registered so could prove it belonged to me.
I was more annoyed at this bit of pantyhose lady luck had flashed me than the initial burglary!
Then, two days ago, I saw a person fitting the same description as the initial bike wheeler leaving a shop, not with my bike unfortunately, but with another guy with a tool bag who kept 5 paces behind him as they walked up the road (they had exchanged a few sentences so were obviously together. Something didn't add up by the way they were dressed differently to each other, plus keeping five paces apart, the same area...
I can't say that this bloke actually stole my bike or that he's a thief but, by all accounts, it looks like he's up to no good.
I'm thinking of going to the police station to see if anyone with the distinctive tattoos, haircut, etc is known to them. My only worry is that he's pooling the bike with other people or has sold it now so even if I could find out who he is, I wouldn't necessarily be able to recover the bike.

Thoughts?
