  • What's so bad about Froome? He seems amenable, reasonable and even tempered to me.

  • You wouldn't know amenable, reasonable, or even tempered if it came up to you and swatted you on the nose with a rolled-up copy of the Socialist Voice.

  • Haven't you got some internet vote-rigging to get overexcited about?

  • Or maybe you can thrill us with some more twitteresque, chick-lit-for-dummies, details about your putative dates.

  • What happened to Rohan Dennis?

  • chick-lit-for-dummies

That's very generous of you, Will, thank you. You're not as sour as you pretend to be, are you?

  • Why do people in any entertainment industry have to be repentant about substance use anyway?

  • Dutchies Mollema and Ten Dam riding their chosen pace, not jumping with the shiny stars and not doing bad at all. Froome is in a different league though, TdF looks to have been decided already. Especially if Contador stays like this. But then again, Paris is still a long way away.

  • "What was he thinking"

He was thinking he was close enough to be a GC contender that the real favourites would have to chase him down and give his team leader a free ride. Seems to have worked out pretty well, with Valve in pole position for the only available podium spot.

Agreed. Any team with some riders who can climb not attacking Sky are the ones to be questioned.

I guess Porte thinks they should be allowed a free ride to Paris. Cos they're Sky.

edit - I just wanna see more of the same from Quintana please. See if he can pop Froome on a climb.

  • Go Team USPS/Murdoch!

    #bollocks #porteftw #gocadel

  • Bert don't dance on the pedals so much these days

  • Those Sky jerseys are pretty fucking lightweight, something new?

  • It's the new Rapha 'Rab C Nesbit Special'

More breatheable for your hangover sweats and lets you descend the Galibier whilst chugging Special Brew and chainsmoking. Whilst looking grittier than a quarrier's jockstrap of course.

It is the same material as used for the pro team base layer. Then printed upon, super light for hot days.

  • set to fucking Pearl Jam.

    #'murica

  • Eh. I know that jersey is lightweight but looking at the company he's in on that chart is a bit... alarming.

  • Marginal gains...

  • Froome is the 3rd fastest ever on Ax 3 Domaines climb, others starting to beat EPO era times as well:

    Fat dopers >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

    Porte (left), Froome (right)

  • Yeah, my twitter stream went straight into VAM comparison mode after that.

Most of the other fastest times were set later in their Tours.

“It’s normal that people ask questions in cycling given the history of the sport,” he said in the winner’s conference.
“I know the sport has changed,” said the 28-year-old. “There’s absolutely no way I’d be able to get these results if the sport hadn’t changed. If you look it logically, we know that the sport’s in a better place that it has been for the last 20 or 30 years, so I think the results now are definitely a lot more credible.
“For me it is a bit of a personal mission to show that the sport has changed and I certainly know that the results I’m getting are not going to be stripped 10, 20 years down the line – rest assured it’s not going to happen.”

  • At some point, all the dope-trolls might accept that a decade of advancement in legitimate preparation means that today's clean thoroughbreds really can outperform yesterday's doped nags.

  • At some point. But that point isn't today.
