Markyboy you are right. It was never my intention to insult anyone at all. My tone was a bit harsh and it shouldn't have been.
I got several friends who ride motorcycles. What kind of bike you ride is not a direct reflection of your personality as a whole (might not be true in all cases). It's that you have two wheels below you is what matters the most. My first bike will probably be a cheap 2nd hand Honda, Suzuki or something similar. I heard those two brands are more reliable so I can save money to buy parts so I can build my own bike. When I get my bike I will try to go to the UK for a ride.
The reason I came to this thread is because it says Motorcycle and Scooter appreciation. I don't know if it means anything different in the UK but here a scooter and a moped means almost the same thing. Over here when someone talks about a scooter they usually mean a "moped covered in plastic" such as a Gilera, AGM scooters, Turbho and other brands. They are considered the same type of vehicle by law, require an A3 "Motorcycle" (A1/A2 are for actual motorcycles) license and have a legal speed limit of 45KM/h. If there is motorcycle version of a scooter you call that a motorcycle and not a scooter.
I owned, until about 2 weeks ago, 5 mopeds and I now own 3 (only 2 of them ride and are geared, the other one was just a for fun project). For a few years I rode about 35/40K a year on my old-timer mopeds. Nowadays I only ride about 8/10k because I now have a car and my work starts really early in the morning. I've been on one of these mopeds to Germany, Belgium and France for holidays. That moped is the moped version of a motorcycle. Everything is the same (wheels, brakes, frame etc) except for the engine (4 gears instead of 5 and a bit smaller). My moped has almost the same top speed as the motorcycle version but only 70CC instead of 125.
I've ridden on Harley's, Honda's, a Laverda (with the controls on the "wrong" side) and a Suzuki motorcycle. I've also been to a lot of (1%) motorcycle party's.
veLLo: I'm from Holland. Your posts can't be cheesy, I'm from Holland, the most cheesiest country in the world.
To make a long story short:
**If I insulted anyone here in this thread, then please accept my apology. It was not my intention to insult anyone at all and I'm deeply sorry if I made anyone feel that way. It's also not my intention to insult anyone's bike and I wish to apologize for that as well. **
