Wow! So if I ask for "black chrome powder coat" I get that?! Is that the stock pomp fork as well?

Thats what I got. It's even better in person.

It's the stock fork. Got the whole frame used at a bargain price but it was in desperate need of a paint job. As far as I'm concern powder coat is the way to go if you want a durable finish.

  • Here's a picture of mine

Another candidate for 'most pimp pomp'

  • The only candidate! Looks ace.

  • My dear god that looks fast! Probably the nicest yet!

  • Thanks for all the good comments!

  • More from facebook about the new Kaff. When asked about the tyre clearances compared to the last model.

"Tyre clearances are actually the same at the BB and slimmed at the seatstay to make them about the same as the BB and give better heel clearance."

  • Swano - that looks awesome!

    What wheels are they?

  • No v's? That'll be the end of it's use for polo then.

    FBOlo?

    What wheels are they?

They are Chinese 60mm carbon wheels with Novatec track hub, the weight is about 1700g.

  • hi everyone, just a quick question regarding the sizing for the Pompino frame.

I am aware that the Pompino is a "compact frame" however i have compared the frame measurements of an xl pomp to a 57cm Trek Madone and the Pompino is a smaller frame (marginally).

I want to build one up however i am 6ft4ich and i wouldn't buy a 57ich Madone so i cant get my head round buying an xl pomp which is a smaller frame even though On One say the xl frame will fit people up to 6ft 4inch.

Can anyone offer me some advice or shed some light in the area, help will be much appriciated. thanks

  • Do you know what effective top tube length you ride?

  • It's not an exact science comparing height to bike sizes, but I know two 6 4 forumengers who use (or have used) xl pomps, so should be about right...

  • So... I think I'm going to get a Pomp and set it up as a SSCX. No guards, knobbly tyres, drops... I'm gonna sell my HHSB wheel (Zipp 3000 trispoke) to fund it.

    Damn this thread.

  • Damn always wanted a 3000 but just got rid of all my dorrah :(

Can I dibs it for a mate?

  • If your mate wants to pay for shipping from Australia to the UK, sure, why not?

  • Okay, will check with him.

  • Cheers, told him to PM you if he wants it.

  • Do you know what effective top tube length you ride?

i usually ride 60cm tt, however i am less concerned with top tube length, i am more worried about seat tube length as i have a 35inch inside leg measurement

  • With compact frames you should worry more about effective TT than seattube.
Didn't Tommmmmmm own a pomp and he has what a 36" inseam?

I am just worried that i wont be able to have my saddle height high enough without putting too much pressure on the frame whereas i can always put a large stem on the bike to make up for a short tt.

Huh? Too much pressure on the frame?

I've got about 380mm of seatpost showing on my polopomp... Whereas you can only get 140mm of stem.

    You'll be fine.

I've had 320mm of seatpost out of the frame on my MTB for nearly a decade of my 90-100kg being lead-assed through every dip on the trail, and it's fine.

My XL Pompetamine only has about 180mm exposed to allow for my 33" inside leg, so you'd probably be looking at no more than 240mm.
