In deference to the fine machines I've had which had 'soul'
C90, AR50/80,RD125LC, RD350LC/YPVS,TZR250, RGV250, CB500,TL1000S,GSXR1000.
I've also definitely had a lot of shit ones - CD125, CG125, ETZ251,250 Benly,GT380 etc. No amount of stripping down, custom megaphone and clip ons could have made them more 'soulful.'
It's not about power, speed or looks...some bikes just have something that makes you want to ride them. And you have to ride a few to know it when you see it.
By the by, not entirely sure about my current steed yet. I like the fact it's pretty fast but looks like a rolling, ghetto, junkyard...the engine is nowhere near as characterful and nice sounding as the GSXR though....
