  • Anyone fancy a spin in the countryside tomorrow, leaving 10amish from East, or anywhere else really. 70+ km at around 26kph. No idea where I'm going, Essex, Cambridge, Brighton, who knows. If all else fails it'll be Richmond again...

I will be heading out east from Hackney to Roydon, I will then ride Roydon tnrc route then ride home. It may be a little later than ten, and more like 70 miles at 16.5 m/p/h? I think...

  • ^ dbr, bitterbuffalo, I'd be keen to join geared but need to be back central before 4pm?

  • send me your number and if things fall into place we can meet at the ice centre on lea bridge road at 10. If we push hard and don't stop we should be back by three?

a quick version of the route.

  • My role as godfather's been activated, I'm babysitting the wee man. Would have been really into this though :(

  • Early morning leaving, chilled out ride to top of ditchling dyke and back anyone? Or somewhere near there...
Average speed 15ish... I guess, faster on the easy bits and slower on the steeper bits?

  • starting to get into bikes, what are your views on fixies; no coaster?

  • Fixies are so sick, so glad BLB invented them!!!!

  • I always use a coaster, most of our furniture is teak and getting coffee rings off it would be a bugger.

  • Rep^

  • Could do with a North London/Essex trundle tomorrow, if anyone else felt the inclination?

  • Laps of Regents from 6pm this eve, maybe a visit to Swains.

  • Heading from the City to Richmond Park tonight if anyones around
    Silver Harry Quinn

  • 7pm ish tonight 50 miles loop into kent from clapham area including star hill. nothing too crazy although likely gears will be required

  • riding out from central at 4 on friday probably for a 40 mile loop of essex. I will head back to finsbury park.

  • Brighton this sunday, route likely the BHF 54 miles one, calm fixed friendly pace.

Likely a bit of getting lost, anyone is welcome.

  • 100+ miles from east london into the surrey hills and back tomorrow, leaving broadway market around 9 if anyone wants to join. The route is here (pdf)

15mph or 25kph with no long stops. PM me if you'd like to join me and my brother.

This is tempting...both ways or train? I've never done Brighton.

  • I'm heading out for ~45 miles of beautiful countryside in the Meon Valley tomorrow morning if anyone is nearby.

  • ^ i'm jealous. btw The Thomas Lord in West Meon is a good pub, though probably too busy on a sunday.

Only one way this time, can't manage two ways in this heat!

Will be getting the train back yes.

It'll be the first time I've navigated there on my own but I've done the ride there before.

Bugger! I'd totally be up for this but bag and wallet stolen so can't do train for the next week or so. Gutted. Good luck man, perfect Sunday ride.

    how did you do?
did 40 miles of it (surbiton round to leatherhead, skipping leith hill) yesterday, completely exhausted! admittedly I'm pretty out of shape, but this heat is crazy.

  • According to strava we did 6:18 moving time at an average of 25.4kph, so 25kph was a good estimate. That was including the central London part and loads of diversions due to some kind of ped race. It was roasting, especially while stationary, though my Pro Team jersey performed admirably on it's maiden voyage. Dropped in for a milkshake from Henry at Look Mum No Hands on the was back too. RAD RIDE.

    Strava here.

  • So. Longer notice this time.

Plan a) if alone I'm going to head up Wednesday, find somewhere to stay (warmshowers- as not going on geek but road biek) then ride a medium, (50ish in the peaks then homewards) one Thursday and back.
Plan b) if anyone wants to join from London- come up to Nottingham for Wednesday evening, and well head up thurs early doors for a longish ride (route/length tbd).
Anyone from t'midlands area/ northwards, will post meeting/start place if interested in joining on Thursday?

Tl;dr... Come ride with me in the Peaks on wed/thurs.
Cake/ice cream/ tea/ fish and chips will undoubtedly follow ride

  • am heading out to edge of kent downs from SW london this arvo -
40 odd miles at 17mph average if anyone fancies.
