There are two ways to do a U turn for the test. First is to do your shoulder check before pulling off, ride along the line then just before you start to make the turn, you do a lifesaver and then turn. Or you can do your pulling away check, ride the line, stop, and then do your lifesaver before making the turn.
I did my pulling away shoulder check, rode along and made the turn without making a lifesaver before the turn. My instructor argued that as everything else was spot on and I'm obviously a confident rider, he could have given me benefit of doubt. Ah well, I know what not to do next time I guess. Just frustrating, I've got to wait a week before I can take again
