get it done. he's a lovely bloke.
Thinking 531. So dirt cheap and awesome! £350 for a custom frame. Then get some alpina action on the front

Yeah I did, if I wasn't in a rush to get a bike together that I could ride for long distances (my other has ricers, tcb rack and clips and straps) then I would have waited.
problem being, the original turnaround time was 2 months, 4 months on and he still hadn't even started the frame, saying that he is a cool guy and does make top notch frames, at a really great price, just be prepared to wait for it.
I am very happy with the 14r though, it is a bit heavier than I expected, but what you lose there, you gain in how stiff it is, quicker than a lot of other frames iv had. -

I rode a 14r and was shocked by the weight, compared to the 853 Donohue... Also, felt not just stiff but a little dead, I like a bit more life in a frame myself. Saying that, I only had a quick spin.

don't. ive had a 531 off him. unless you want comfort. it was a very comfortable ride for a track frame. but an effort up the hills.

mine is built with pretty light bits so it isn't even that heavy, im yet to weigh it though, but I reckon its around 18lbs, definitely feels quicker than the kissena I previously had all these bits built up with.
After much trying to find the right steel frame, i thought id just go ahead and get one built for me, that way i get exactly what i want.
my local framebuilder is steve goff, he has been recommended by a few people i know, and its nice to have someone build it locally, and at a bargainous price too!
being only 20 miles away, i shot down to have a chat.
i have decided on reynolds 725 os tubing, should be nice and light, fillet brazed, stays shot in lower than the top tube, nice and steep angles, double seatstay bridge.
should look something like this when its done.
And a few snaps from steves workshop, a proper workshop is meant to be messy.
And the soon to be frame
