House and Rave Rave and House?
House is House. Rave was (is) House that went on bit of a bigger venue spin off series starring More Sulphate and hit the suburbs hard. Dare I say it, if House in Britain was (at the start at least) an extension of the Soul/Rare Groove/Acid Jazz scenes, then Rave was House's spazzed out teenage Brother..........

As for the House / Rave debate I wasn't going to get involved but the whole thread was started as a response to the House music thread. Some years ago I posted 4 for Money's Moment in Time to the House Music thread. I got called on it by Scott not Scot for not being 'house' - which I guess it's not.
Eightball summed it up brilliantly. Two of my favourite clubs ever were Shelleys (Stoke ffs) and the Orbit (original one in Osset again ffs) - suburban and spazzed out but quite quite joyous. Everything fractured anyway but what I liked was the fact that at that time you could hear it all meshed together.
To add to the Quadrant Park vid here's one from Shelleys. This was what I liked - Shelleys NYE 1990-1991 - YouTube

Superb, Love that 'system' sample. I'm trying to remember something that has 'sound system' in a vocoder kind of voice - maybe Shades of Rhythm - i think I've posted it before. Anyway - system- sample gets the rave thumbs up! Happy New Year!

wallop! Bang on ^^
Edit - no I'm wrong. No ''sound system ' sample in that. The tune in thinking of is same era less hardcore same vocoder.
