To my eyes, BB-5500* looks like Octalink v2, whereas BB-7710 is v1. I wouldn't put DuraAce track cranks on a 105 BB for that reason. BB-7710 is only about £50 anyway
*recent production, at least. It seems to have been issued in both spline lengths with no model number chainge.
