A classic example. Please do note that on the other side of that hub there is a QR skewer. One quick pull, a bit of jiggery pokery and you're walking off with the best part of a via nirone.

Edit, he should have put the krypto round the rim rather than the spokes.
Burn the cunt. Burn him now.
What a cunt, basically it's akin to locking your prized possession to a uncapped signpost thats only 8ft tall. I mean what kind of bellend would do such a thing?

Another cabe use warning. Spotted this as I left work this afternoon. It's under Bishop's Bridge on the footpath alongside the canal outside Paddington. An area I've previously considered relatively safe but it's all too quick and easy to get through one of these cables. In hindsight I should have taken the helmet and left a note for the unfortunate owner before that gets nicked too.
I've passed this several time before further down the canal near Westbourne Park, it's been there a while but I've never noticed that the keys actually in the lock!

Or scrote glued in a key to prevent it being unlocked by real owner.

Oh and famous last words George! I thought that was your secondary lock! I hope your Mash doesn't get locked up with that cable!
Hah, i don't lock the mash up, i need to invest in a better lock for sure before i do. The vivalo is not so noticeable so i can get away with it in certain areas.

Leave your bike unlocked. Find a nice stakeout across the street, preferably a pub, and wait... Then, if and when appropriate, approach the bastard nicking your bike, kick him in the balls and light him on fire; nothing says "please leave my bike alone you fucking bastard," like kicking the thieving little shit in the groin and burning his sorry arse to hell.

spending all that money on a new york lock and then not using it to secure any part of the bike?
i don't know
maybe whoever it was needed that painful reality check -

These people are obviously "sold" these locks by hard pressing salepeople telling them they need it. Without explaining why or how. This and/or insurance requirements.

Tried a punch and a hammer. Little bit of percussive maintenance to ease the seal...

I had such a hard time removing ball bearings from allen key bolts yesterday! On came very easily, the other one took my for ever... Just for me to realise I'd had bought the wrong diameter replacement seatpost...! What a nightmare!

It would get destroyed by UV and weather in no time.
-
• #3048
I'm not sure anyone's suggesting it's secure, more just to keep the rain off. Which seems useful to me.

Used to have one, great for keeping the bicycle dry, not so great for moisture.

There is one in the front garden of somebody's house on Seven Sisters Road! It's been there for years by the looks of it and there are bikes inside of it too. I imagine they have wall anchors or something inside.
Good point.
