All parts now being ordered
Hope to have a complete bike next week.
My brakes arrived today so I already have one. So I win.
Well my brakes are in Plymouth, and my bike is in Norway. But I own all the bits.......

Lee, hmm. Which bunch of idiots will be fucking up the delivery for you? And will Norwegian customs sit on any parts? Did the grips actually go in the post, or are you holding on to them until the brakes are installed?
Neil, what size headset? I need a 44mm 1 1/8" for the frame.

Piss. Grips are in the post. I missed a trick there.
I'm off to England in a few weeks. So couldnt justify the extra £40/50 having them sent here. Also have some PDW mudguards on the way too.

to be fair, i reckon 4 inches of tyre will make the frame material inconsequential

Yes and no.
I've never really been into this vertically compliant bollocks. Build em stiff, and get a good fit and contact point set-up. But I've always said my Spot Brand combines drive stiffness with a slight compliance when throwing it into tight lumpy turns at speed. As the fat bike has more traction, as well as more tyre cush, its possible this remains true.
Having said that. I made several attempts to buy a alu frame before giving up and going Ti. Believe it or not it cost the same as having a Mukluk posted.
PS. You're a cnut for nerging me. I could'nt find a 203mm adaptor this morning, and deciding riding around on my carbide studded tyres is a bad idea anyway.

no nerg was given, it was metaphorical rather than actual

Bollocks
It appears there is only one surly marge lite rim in Europe, at sideways cycles. I can't fucking wheelie so everything is now on hold.

Winning.

Just build it up with a 24" front wheel.... Fat and low pro.

Dredge. Was this ever resolved, James?
If so, do you find many occasions to ride it?

Really want some HD style tyres. I'm thinking Knard, Vee8, or HD. Its taking too long for the snow to arrive, and I want to ride some fat.
This looks rather good, look forward to seeing it built
