Hi, my bike was also stolen, would appreciate any info to 07947 032718 if anybody spots it.
It's a brand new Charge Plug white single speed bike with brown bull horn handlebars, frame size Small. Stolen from Newmarket Station where it was locked up to the map sign on the road into the car park on Thursday 8/8/13 between 10am and 10pm .I've also logged it on the stolen-bikes uk site:

Cheers

Good news, the guy who unwittingly bought the bike from the bike thief saw one of my flyers at the station and brought it back. Interestingly the lock was intact, which was a very hefty chain lock but with a 4-digit combination, so the thief must have sat in broad daylight working methodically through all possible combinations. Thanks to anyone who was looking out for it.

It really doesn't take much to break some combination locks.
It sounds like yours is one of the types that have the signature give as each digit of the code slides into place.
Even without this, chances are people leave combination locks relatively near to the code that unlocks it, vastly reducing the number of combinations that you need to enter.I'd buy a decent key D-lock, if I were you- especially in Cambridge, where the high student population means bike thieves have plenty of practice.
But excellent news on the bike coming back- naturally I would not have posted the above prior to the successful return of a bike.
Having had a bike stolen and returned I know what a great feeling it is! -

^^ Brilliant news. Restores faith in humanity doesn't it. Combi locks are a waste of time. We used to pick them (for fun) at school to prove how easy it was. That was many years ago. Seems those type of locks are still useless. I lock my bikes with one or two d-locks, depending which bike it is. September to November is peak thieving season in Cambridge, so take care.

Did I just see this locked outside Sainsbo's in town?
If so, whilst the new D-lock is an improvement, the locking technique still needs some work... ;)

Haha, no, I have seen a couple of others around though.
Had my bicycle stolen from Newnham/Lammas Land area last night at around 11pm. It was my fault as I left it locked with a shitty code lock but I'd like to see her again.
Will post pictures but specs are as follows: Charge Plug Freestyler 2010 frame, BLB black trick forks Unlike those seen in the first picture, Sugino Messenger crankset, Halo Aerotrack on the back and Velocity deep v on the front, BigxTop foot straps. Also has gumwall tyres so pretty noticeable. It doesn't have those stickers on the frame anymore.
Contact Gabe on 07523871174 if you see it.
Thanks a lot.
