No love for ALAN?
Price drop £400 without Dura-Ace pedals (I can throw in some beater ones if needed), £430 with.
-
• #4
i'll take the dura ace pedals if you're willing to sell them separately.
-
• #5
Cheers Bramv - I'll be hanging on to the pedals unless they go with the whole bike. Why don't you buy the bike and get the pedals for free?

Lovely looking bike....Alan frames are a bit special...too big for me.....which model is this?
-
• #7
I'm unsure which model (or how to find out) but perhaps someone with superior digging ability can find out.
I've been informed it's a Cinelli 1A stem.

Information is normally near the top of the seat tube in tiny engraved letters and numbers; eg on mine is "RECORD1088" indicating model is Record built October 1988.

Ah thanks - I've noticed something stamped up there (!). Will have a look later.

From the top of the seat tube:
So, "ALAN481"...

Nice bike, but an Alan myself recently, really smooth ride.
-
• #13
Black anodised Super Record obviously.
Nice, very nice. Unfortunately too small. -
• #14
Still for sale? Would you take 380 posted (with beater pedals)?
-
• #15
Gorgeous bike and very inexpensive given the spec. I have an Alan Super Record and love it to bits. Good luck with the sale.

Cheers Eugine. I don't really want to let this one go but have too many bikes at the moment...
Africano it is still for sale though £400 + postage is as low as I can go. I've not posted a bike before but guessing it costs £25-£30 extra...

Sold to africano.
Threatened to sell this last month but decided against. House-move and other plans have forced my hand so, for real this time...
Some details:
Sizes:
Seat tube: 57 cm c-t
Top tube: 56 cm c-c
**Components: **
Shimano Dura ace groupset: front & rear mech, crankset, calipers/levers, down tube shifters.
Rolls saddle, practically brand-new!
Very particular (and beautiful) wheelset, radial spoked, black Alesa rims, GB hubs.
3TTT "MOD Competitizione" bars wrapped in blue Benotto tape.
Black Cinelli stem (unsure of the model number)
Since I got ALAN I replaced the gear and brake cables/housings with super-fancy Yokozuna gear (looks great): http://www.wiggle.co.uk/yokozuna-reaction-cable-system/
I also added the Dura-Ace pedals/clips. They don't quite match the group set but they're very very decent.
I've given the bike a full clean, looks great now. I've just had it serviced at G-Whizz in Brighton, so all ready to go. Rides so nicely!
I'm based in Brighton (Hove actually). I am often in London for work so can possible meet there too.
Would prefer not to split and I've never posted a bike before but sure that can be arranged if needed.
Price: £450 with the pedals, £420 without.
