  • Deltas?

  • Is that a half link?

    You fucking kidding me?

If it helps, it is also the wrong way round! ;)

  • .com ship it with a halflink for some reason.

  • Ho get back on the SuperToughness train! I did :)

  • Or just buy a chain better than an Izumi V that's also 70% cheaper
    http://www.wiggle.co.uk/wippermann-bmx-1r8-single-speed-chain/ only £15.99 today

  • So this happened, thanks to a charming car doing a u turn into me, so the forks and front wheel are fucked. The car then promptly drove off. Thankfully I have a lisence plate, but not much else. In anticipation of it being 6 months before I get any money from the drivers insurance, if I get any money at all, I'm going to replace the parts and keep the recipts/broken bits. All I want to know is are there any cheaper options, that are suitable, for me to replace the forks with, other than Enve forks, or is replacing them for cheaper options a stupid idea, as subsequently I might not get the money back from his insurance if I don't replace with identical parts?

  • ^ SHIT! Sounds bad (for bike)
What length steerer do you need?

  • I'm not exactly sure, it's a 55cm frame. It was more that it's a Moots and I was wondering if there's anything else aesthetically 'correct' and cheaper to put on a Moots other than Enve forks. I'm hoping there is, but from photos online it doesn't look like there is

    this looks right

    this is not

    but this might be

so, what I wanted to know is are there any good, strong, light, full carbon, straight forks for under £300?

EDIT: Just found out TI forks from Burls are £350. I'm tempted by the idea of forks I might not have to throw away after 1 crash, are TI forks a very bad idea? IMO the aesthetics are right http://pandacycles.de/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/moots01.jpg but what's the ride quality like?

  • Ho get back on the SuperToughness train! I did :)

Really regretting now sending that Izumi back to Canyon now, next pay cheque dude...or when i ruin this half link! =)

  • Hi guys, have you seen the new swift frame from brother cycles, what do you think?
    http://www.brothercycles.com/shop/swift-track/

  • ugh - don't put ti forks on a Moots! It's a Moots FFS - get ENVE some back on there!!

Sorry to hear about the crash btw - gutting.

  • Or Easton EC90?

Ti fork IMHO are not worth buying, for the money you can get a great carbon fork for the price of a noodly heavy titanium fork.

Do you like it? if yes, buy.

If you don't, avoid like the plague.

  • New brother swift looks like tf dart? Nowt wrong with that though.

  • Oh you racist fuck.

Or disregard sound advice get some expensive gold bling from KMC because it's gold

  • Fred man that sucks so much

Evans sell enve for 325 last time i checked

It's the last part of the question that's important.

Honestly I don't know how it works practically. But I don't see why it should. The loss suffered is the loss/damage of the original parts.

If you don't want to spend too much now, just go for the best that you can reasonably afford. Are there still those unpainted E90's on ebay? Or else planet x own brand forks are good value.

  • Are there still those unpainted E90's on ebay?

No I bought the last one /csb

  • That directed my way scoble?

  • Ti fork IMHO are not worth buying, for the money you can get a great carbon fork for the price of a noodly heavy titanium fork.

Yes, I understand this, but...if I am going to spend £350 on forks I quite like the idea of having a fork I don't have to throw away after 1 crash, and I assume this means going for steel or titanium. Steel forks would be too heavy, so TI is an option. How bad is the flex in TI forks, has anyone on here ever actually ridden them on a road bike? If they're only about 100g heavier, ride quality isn't shit, and they can survive a crash or two then they become a little more attractive to me.

  • I have. One made in russia ordered from burls. Its flexier than a carbon fork no doubt. I wouldent race on one or even have it on a bike intended for fast paced rides but i wouldent mind having it on a bike that i was just using around town or slow / long rides.
Biggest advantage is that they look great on a ti frame imo, which makes em sorta meh i guess if your not a ti addict. They are alot more than just 100g heavier. More like 250 or similar.

Im not crazy bout enve forks in general lookwise unless blacked out. Maybe get a moots road fork or get an easton and just take of the decals. Bit of work but it looks nice on the moots with just a plain black fork or atleast i think so.

Sorry to hear about your incident btw. What kinda person would drive away after something like that?! Idiots :/

  • Yes, I understand this, but...if I am going to spend £350 on forks I quite like the idea of having a fork I don't have to throw away after 1 crash.

Ti doesn't mean unbreakable, you'd probably need to repair the fork which would be tricky that simply buying a new one would be easier.

You can always buy a steel fork painted to match the frame, they'd be stiffer and smarter looking.

Or even get one made specifically,
