For Sale: Mercian Strada 1978 - classic British steel!

For sale is one Mercian Strada 1978 road racing bicycle, made of classic British steel, Reynolds 531.

The frame is a lovely copper colour with white lug lining and white panels on the head tube and seat tube.

The seat tube measures 58cm c-c, 59cm c-t. The top tube measures 57cm c-c.

The frame is in good condition overall, with a general patina in keeping with the age of the bicycle. I have pictured the worst parts.

There is one small dent on the rear of the seat tube. It is about the size of a 5p piece, barely visible apart from where it marks the paint, pictured.

Drive train:

• Chainset SR Royal with dustcaps
  
• Front derailleur Sachs Huret
  
• Rear derailleur Suntour Cyclone
  
• Suntour Cyclone Band-on downtube shifters
  
• Unknown 6-speed block
  
  

Wheels:

• Rear: Rigida rim laced to Sachs hub
  
• Front: Weinmann XR18 rim laced to Quando hub
  
  

Brakes:

• Really excellent condition vintage Campagnolo Record calipers, external nut fitting, blocks with very little wear.
  
• Drilled Galli levers, will throw in some generic Cane Creek hoods if needed
  
  

The rest:

• Brooks B17 saddle
  
• Gipiemme Sprint pedals, black cages
  
• SR Laprade seatpost 27.2mm
  
• Milremo stem
  
• Unknown drop bars, black cloth tape.
  
• Conti Gatorskins with plenty of wear left
