  • I set it at 12.30 so that no one would qualify and we could speed the program up...

  • A qualifying time trial of 12.30s? Not going to be many people racing if the track league record is 12.40s and no one got below 12.50s in the recent TTs!!!! Will it just be off the fastest times?

So the sprint final will be, Big Miles vs. Little Miles.

  • Am away that weekend but god luck to BC, well done for the poster 6pt.

  • I'm starting my new job on that day with a residential training course in North London, which is supposed to have a meet and greet between 2pm and 6pm. Wondering if I can still race in the support races and then show up afterwards to move in without appearing too rude...

  • Do it! You could probably make it for the end of your meet and greet but you might be a bit sweaty. It's bike racing, they'll understand. In fact, I reckon they'll give you a promotion on the spot.

It must be a bloody good job to get you starting on a Sunday.

  • Wonderful art work 6pt!

  • Just sent my registration. :-)

  • Here's the race program in full:

    • Ron Beckett Mixed Double Harness pursuit Final
    • Youth + RB prize presentation
    • Senior keirin heats x 2

    • Senior Keirin final
    • Women Keirin final
    • Senior support 12 lap points race
    • Big Rob's Super Madison Trophy 44 lap points
    • Prize Presentations

Senior riders can ride the madison races (with a partner obviously) or the support races, you can't do both. All senior riders can ride the sprint and keirin.

  • The madison winout should be interesting - 16 laps with sprints with 8 to go, 4 to go and the final lap. The team that takes the first sprint wins the race and pulls out, the next sprint takes 2nd, final sprint 3rd.

  • Yep, sounds like that should be a good race. Hopefully be down to watch!

  • Weather lookin alright :) boom

  • Just aTAD windy...

  • Oh yeah yesterday was blowy. Haven't been outside yet today

  • Great day of racing! Thanks for putting it on. Look forward to it next year! :')

    And heal up soon Richard!

  • Great day of racing! Thanks for putting it on. Look forward to it next year! :')

    And heal up soon Richard!

Agreed, It was a great day except for Rich's spill!

  • I don't know…

All these noobs crashing everywhere ;)

  • Really gutted I missed sign on by 5 minutes. The madison racing was really good to watch, looked impressively chaotic. Well done Brixton cycles!

  • It was a nobby noob crash too, trying to ride into a non-existent gap, rider on left moved up, rider on right moved down, touch of wheels and down I went, hard onto my right shoulder. Got myself an acromioclavicular separation injury. They seem to be quite fashionable at Herne Hill at the moment. "Only" 8mm of separation so recovery should be relatively quick.

    That gap wasn't there yesterday...

  • Apart from that though, what a day. Cracking racing and a good crowd - we ran out of food an beer as we weren't anticipating so many people turning up. The only thing, other than more beer, that could have made it better was the weather. Can't wait to do it all again next year.

Some brilliant sprinting this year too.

  • Better weather and more beer next year would be great! Glad I came along, if only for a bit - particularly enjoyed being mistaken for a track cyclist due to my (oh so fashionable) plaster cast.

  • Good coffee and better beer made for a thoroughly enjoyable day out spectating.
Big ups to Brixton cycles for organising an awesome day and for my new cap :).
The Madison 16 lap winout is a great format for a race.

  • That was my idea [/smug]

  • Had a great day, looking forward to looking through the results when they're posted so I can put names to faces...or arses as it was in my case :-(

  • It was great fun manning the beer tent at the weekend, glad every one enjoyed the selection of bitter and, er bitter, but dont worry plans are afoot for a larger beverage selection next year (and perhaps the return of Buckie if Mrs_socks has anything to do with it....)
