  • This is my first self build. I've read The Paterek Manual, watched a bunch og fillet brazing videos, follow framebuilders on instagram, asked people who braze and just tried it out, practising.

If you want to see they full time line you'll have to go here http://statigr.am/hulsroy or here http://fixie-king.dk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=18593

But here is a recap for you:

    Models 1:10

  • building tools to build frame

Miters from Rhino, print, cut, file

  • Based on Paragon Machineworks adj dropouts I made these

  • It ended out like this

Needs gears, paint and som slight modifications

  • :D
    breathtaking.

  • incredible, shed engineering at its finest

  • Models 1:10

What was the purpose of the models? Did you do stress tests to pick the best design?

  • I am an architect. This was my way of producing visualisation of my ideas. It made me able to communicate with engineers about what was possible

  • Can you make another one with a seat for a child in front? :-)

  • I might take in orders eventually, but for now I will practise on my own projects :-)

  • most interesting current project since ages and a great documentation too!!!!!

  • Really impressive work! The DIY tool bit is awesome as well.
Is this the first frame you've ever made?

  • excellent work, well done

  • really nice, how about a C record group to finish it off :-)

  • Fantastic Build

  • You mentioned in another thread that it was cheaper than the Bullitt, but what would the retail be on something like that if you were to build it for others?
    Super clean work btw.

  • Nice idea with the laser cut custom v-blocks. Did they work out as planned? Any modifications you'd make? It'd be a damn sight cheaper than the four v-blocks I was gonna buy for £80...

  • Your bike made me pop my nut.

    Seriously.

  • Don't paint it, looks so good showing all the welds and the beautiful finish of the metal. Just clear coat?

  • Clear is never an option with steel. It needs paint.
The frame blocks er cnc milled. The alignment jig is laser cut. The dropouts are water cut.
It is cheaper in materials than a bullitt. I will probably not sell fillet brazed cargo frames. They are a lot of work to make every tube fit. But the smart thing is that the tubing is replaceable so you can fix a broken frame.
This is my first build from the bottom up. I have made another cargo bike that was tig welded on an old MTB frame.
Over all weight is 19 kgs - 5 kgs lighter than a Bullitt

    And thanks all.

  • look, just look at this!

  • What are the materials? Are the different finishes different alloys, or just the way stuff comes in the different sizes?

  • This is inspirational stuff. Awesome.
