Anyone used 3M Super 77 stuff to glue on race numbers?
-
• #4457
^ spray glue ?
A great way to piss off the TT organisers, when returning a sticky race number...
-
• #4458
Don't organisers get very pissy with people using adhesives to stick on their numbers? Plus you'll get lynched on the TT forum.
-
• #4459
simple - get a set of your own numbers printed, make em sticky, keep in the car.

The numbers are plastic. Won't it wash off?

What about double sided tape?
-
• #4462
Or clear tape used by Dowsett on CTTs banner header ^^

I could buy my own set of numbers and attach them how I please..

that's what I just said.
-
• #4465
I'm showing you they exist to buy. Not my comic sans bubble jet attempt..
-
• #4466
Just buy a blank orange/yellow square and an assortment of single numbers. Will certainly cost a lot less than a full set!
-
• #4467
You just don't get this whole 'buyer' thing Sam

http://www.impsport.com/Category/Time-Trial-Numbers---Fluorescent-OrangeI like these better than Impsport, and they are cheaper
http://www.jvgraphics.co.uk/sport-event-signs/race-numbers.htmlBear in mind that an increasing number of race instructions now stipulate that you must use the numbers supplied by the organiser and you *must not * attach them by any means other than the supplied safety pins. If everybody plays by the rules, we have a nice level playing field, otherwise well-funded arseholes disappear into the distance because their specially developed zig-zag edged tape is gaining them 5W

I'm just trying to avoid ruining an expensive skinsuit. I may be a well-funded arsehole but I don't like pissing my money up the wall. WTF am I saying I piss most of my money up a wall.
I'll see if the numbers can be attached to the zips like someone mentioned on TTF. Might invest in some clean safety pins..

Don't good skinsuits have little tabs for pinning numbers to?
-
• #4471
^this
or get some sewn on

None that I've seen. This ain't the triathlon thread. :)

or get some sewn onI've mentioned this to my gf. I'm a bit worried letting her loose on the skinsuit too, to be honest. We'll see..

• #4474
what about putting the number in a poly pocket and then using spray adhesive to stick this to your back?
-
• #4475
I'm planning on sewing some little loops of elastic onto my skinsuit (when I finally go fast enough to deserve to use it) for the safety pins to go into. Should make it easier for willing assistants to help me put my number on, and willing assistants are necessary given that I don't have a van or other enclosed space to get changed in. And hopefully if they're elasticated they might help pull the race number flat against my back. Maybe.
Dear Mr Pot,
You may as well call me fat.
Lots of love,
Mr Kettle.
