• Just bring your card and get a hundred of whatever out when you're down to your last twenty. I'm bringing pants and socks.

  • yes atmachine easy

  • Pants and socks, Antonio?

  • Metro bank (https://www.metrobankonline.co.uk/) current accounts have free foreign withdrawals and you get the headline exchange rate.

When I set up my account they got it all done that day (including making a card for me), saved quite a bit of money that way last time I went travelling.

  • Avios?

  • Flights booked. Just need bike bag now...

  • CRC have a bargain one for 50 quid, really nice too

  • £10 CTC heavy-PE transparent bag plus a whole load of trust and prayers?

Apparently Stansted is statistically the roughest with luggage according to the incidence of reported damage, but the figures weren't broken (hah!) down far enough to see damage to Sporting Equipment.

  • Flying from Gatwick.

Prepared to spend on this for a good one. Any bidding bag makers who make something that could get to me in time?

  • Who you flying with, Jimmy, and how much?

    I'm 90% sure I'm not going now, but... ;)

  • EasyJet. Booked it as sporting equipment.

I love the bogear bags but have left it waaaayyyy too late and realistically don't have the budget!

  • I can sell you my Bogear if you like, I don't use it.

I do you good price, my friend.

  • I'm looking at snow card.co.uk to insure bikes in transit (normal household cover usually excludes the period between handing it over at checking and collecting it at the other end). They have categories for touring, leisure and competitive road, XC, DH... Gonna email them about polo but cover that does everything except on-court would be fine by me.

Anyone got experience with this or alternative firms.

The Calgary Convention (iirc) limits baggage compensation to an amount per kg, which sucks for sporting equipment.

  • I can sell you my Bogear if you like, I don't use it.

I love my BO Gear bag (same as John's)... you compress everything in real-tight and pad the edge with clothes/whatever, meaning the only thing that can take a beating is your wheels.

I've been using it extensively and it seems to be working out well (better than my large bag which allowed things to rattle around a little).

Probably a hard shell case would be best, but it's a pain once you arrive.

  • Just got a call back from http://www.snowcard.co.uk/

If you choose the "Road Tourer" level of cover, that will include the flights and when you're riding around Krakow, but not "during competition". If there is damage when you collect your bike at the Airport, you have to report it before you leave the airport and get the appropriate form signed for the cover to be valid.

  • so anyone on the flight form gatwick super early weds Jim? Want to share taxi?

  • I can sell you my Bogear if you like, I don't use it.

I do you good price, my friend.

How much? If Jimbo is no dice...

  • Soz, Jim-dog got it.

  • I'm going super early thursday B, as I can't get out of work Wed :(

  • Anyone else flying Wednesday morning from Southend? Currently it's Frax, Fin and I.

  • Anyone else flying Wednesday morning from Southend? Currently it's Frax, Fin and I.
