  • I'm seriously tempted by a Junghans but I prob won't go for a Chrono.

Alsal have all of them in stock if you wanted to have a look at them in the flesh SP.

  • Vostok arrived today in a box that looks like it time traveled from the 70s. Pretty pleased with it- was worried it would be too big for my wrist. Nato strap?

I came across one of those the other day and really loved it. Nice one.

  • I bid on it.

    Did you win it?

  • I've just been offered one by a friend of a friend for £2,200. Anyone care to comment on whether they think it a good deal? It is with box and papers and in excellent condition. I have to admit to being sorely tempted as I have fancied one for a while.

  • The cut 10 makes it a no-no for me. Well, almost.

  • It's one small detail, but I know what you mean. Otherwise, I think it a handsome affair.

  • thats lovely.

    what size?

  • Feckin sweet, I do love an IWC even if they are a bit wankerish (the latest pilots ones for example)

  • thats lovely.

    what size?

    39mm, I think.

  • I love the Junghans but don't forget they use acrylic crystal instead of sapphire glass which means they'll be much (much) more susceptible to scratches and scuffs.

Obviously they can be sorted out with polish and elbow grease but it makes them harder to wear as an everyday watch.

i regularly wear watches with acrylic crystals, as I much prefer the look. I don't notice any issue with scratching, but then I work in an office. Might be different if you're a mechanic.

  • I wouldn't worry about the acrylic.

If acrylic gets scratched you can polish it out, if sapphire crystal gets scratched it remains scratched.

  • ^ This

  • Junghans are very nice, if you're an architect.

  • sad face

  • Tag is for?

  • thats lovely.

    what size?

You're really worried about size aren't you?

  • Tag is for?

Low-rent money brokers, regional estate agents and recruitment consultants.

  • ^ And for people who don't know how to wear watches....

cause small looks stupid on my wrist and all the watches you guys like are on the smaller side.

I am a chunky Neolithic gorilla and therefore need a slightly larger rough round the edges watch

In all seriousness what is the circumference of your wrist? I know you've got big arms but I can't remember your wrists being that big...
