Does double 20k mean one for As and one for Bs and Cs, or two 20k for everyone?
-
• #204
It means all in 40k race, I think.
-
• #205
That's going to smart after four weeks without racing.
-
• #206
How many laps is that? I guess once you're lapped then you have to come off?
-
• #207
89 laps if my maths is correct (and I'm right in thinking the track is 450m)
-
• #208
We had a 100 lap race last year with 10 neutralised laps in between. This time round though we'll keep it simple and just have two 44 lap races. One points and one scratch, as well as shorter ones for the C cats and a few dashes.

• #209
Awesome! In for that.

44 lap points race! Awesome. Points every other lap? What have the commissaires done to deserve that?
-
• #211
Points every 5, and no sprints for the first 9 laps, gives the commissaries a chance to go off, have an ice cream and catch a few rays.

Get well soon everyone involved in the crash this evening. Horrible thing to witness and a great shame some will be off their bikes for a while. Good response from the emergency services and St Johns Ambulance is the only positive thing from this evening.

What happened?

Heal quickly guys!

Pileup halfway up on the first corner in the 22km scratch race. It happened directly behind me so I don't know exactly, but basically there were riders right across the track and when the front eased off it caused a concertina which led to a few wheels touching. Someone hit my wheel but was apparently already on her way down having been bit from the side. Big mess basically, I feel horribly guilty that someone bounced off the back of me but I was doing all I could to avoid the wheel in front of me without changing line.

T-V down with injuries according to a clubmate
-
• #217
T-V looks to have dislocated his shoulder and injured his elbow. Looks like there were a couple of broken collarbones, a serious leg injury and a very bloody chin.
-
• #218
Bad news, I hope all involved heal quickly. Tom I don't think you should feel too guilty- it sounds like you were doing the right thing, nice work on staying upright.
-
• #219
That was horrible last nite
-
• #220
sorry to hear about this, heal up peeps :(

From the second rider to come down, on FB -
The rider in front of me was going solid on the blue... someone came through on the inside and hit their bars. Nothing they could do - I was right on their wheel, so went flying over the top.
-
• #222
Sounds nasty, hoping that everyone involved heal up soon.
-
• #223
It was Laura Cheeseman's bars who they hit. She's unlucky as she also came off in an open track meet a few weeks ago
Nothing she could do by all accounts
Just too many people on the track racing last night -
• #224
it was ridiculous, there were people all over track and no where to go.
It is the VCL guy who came off worst, poor thing - wishing him speedy recovery.
Laura has lots of road rash and broken jaw, but ok. Josh from VCL suspected broken wrist and i bust my shoulder.
can't believe so many of us ended up in hospital.
Ambulance guys were amazing!

Hope you heal up soon.
Didn't realise Laura broke her jaw, that's awful. Any news on the VCL guy? Looked like a nasty leg injury.
Alex from Rollapaluza (T-V) has a fractured elbow and shoulder.
What else is there tonight? Points?
