Thanks, but I don't have a monitor. plus I really need to be able to drag it around everywhere.
had a quick google and it seems impossible to move that menu bar. so annoying.
There's an app called bartender that should help.

New mac book air - opinions anyone?
The 11 inch with 12 hours of battery life is mad. I'm very tempted.
~EDIT - I'm thick the 12 hour battery life is on the 13 inch version, balls.

Engadget reviewed the 13inch and even with their rundown test of wifi surfing and video plays, it managed 12 hours and 51 minutes.

Ok I've got 2 iPod classics at home which I need to replace the battery on. The oldest (a 30gb model) is hardly holding a charge for 5 hours the 80gb newer one is holding a charge for about a day.
Also Mrs. Spenceey's iPod nano isn't even turning on, is there some kind of fault find I can do on it before I attempt to replace the battery on that too?
Last question, how do you identify the generation of the iPod classic? Because I guess the batteries aren't all compatible together.
Figured I may as well do them all at the same time.

Think there's sites where you can enter your serial nr and figure it out. Unless this helps? http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1353
While you're at it, maybe swap the hdd's for something bigger?
-
• #4359
Yeah saw that site - didn't really help all that much actually!
Hmm that's a good idea- could replace the 30gb for sure. The 80gb is OK at the moment, I take it that's an easy job too?
-
• #4360
Yeah i've changed hdd in mine, dead easy. Think battery is trickier as it might need a bit of soldering, unless that was on my iPhone

I guess I could put this in my 80gb? http://compare.ebay.co.uk/like/251281483469?var=lv<yp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar&_lwgsi=y&cbt=y&device=c&adtype=pla&crdt=0&ff3=1&ff11=ICEP3.0.0&ff12=67&ff13=80&ff14=63&ff19=0
Would then double the space. I could then in turn put the 80gb in to the 30?

I'd think so yeah. Or just put the 160 in the 30?

hmm that's a point. Although the 80gb is newer.

Anyone running iOS 7? Have a dev copy (legit, I'm working as a designer with a dev) worried it might brick my phone or ruin all my apps, anyone with any experiences?

• #4366
I work at IT as a system and network administrator for a multinational. I got an intern who hates apple so today I'm wearing my t-shirt with the head of Steve Jobs on it. Just to annoy him.

I've been running it on my iPhone 5 for a week. So far so good but there are quite a few apps that don't work (probably 20%).
The system itself is very stable though.

Question for the IOS7 users here:
Can you find out if you can use the DVORAK keyboard layout? I have a jailbroken iPhone because of that reason.
-
• #4369
^^ likewise.
But there's a lot of decisions they've made re: transitions that really jar for me.
I really like the new icon set, but that really isn't enough innovation for a brand new number. Everything feels a bit tacked on, and as if 1 person was doing each thing with a vague brief, and then they chucked it all together at the end.

• #4370
Hmm. So tempted. Any notable apps that break? Tbf I have many but use few...
-
• #4371
Things that are broken for me are the eBay app and Tubedeluxe. I don't have Facebook or twitter so can't comment on them. The music app is having a bit of trouble matching artwork up with the right albums but it plays just fine.
-
• #4372
Hmmm... I use ebay a little, but shouldn't... don't use Twitter or Facebook but do use instagram... I assume Mail works fine? Mail, iCal, etc? I'm guessing a fair few games will go tits up but they are only games... my phone does need a refresh/clean up.

• #4373
Oh, Barclays banking... thats important, does that still work? Anyone?
-
• #4374
Don't go into iOS7 just yet Chris. You don't really have to. Buy a touch if you need to play around with it.
