I realise this may not be ideal but I may be interested in a charger unit depending on what 'power' they are suitable for (65 or 80Watts I think are the two types)

ha, just like splitting a bike :-)
They are both 60W
I'd be glad to sell it separate at £20 and knock £20 off the eventual price of the laptop itself, if the buyer was also happy with that. Is that of any use?

midday stop-messing-around price-drop: £200 (we all knew it was heading for £200 and someone would have sniped it by now if they were out there!)
I have a buyer on PM interested at £200
but Chris, I'm kinda thinking of you as first dibs, as you were helpful when I was hunting around for what this was worth. So just in case, in the spirit of splitting the bike, can we make any of these options work?
Chris - laptop - £160
BS&G - both chargers - £40Chris - laptop - £160
BS&G - one charger - £20
Someone else - the other charger - £20Chris - laptop and one charger - £180

Right! Am in London till about midday on Sunday (Blackheath). Got a couple of people PMing me but no-one has confirmed a pick up yet... Just to say, price is settled down to £160 for the lot!

Oh well that didn't quite work out! Never mind. I will stick it on ebay and try the other approach of working from zero upwards, instead of 250 downwards. If any of you who've said you might be interested at a lower price want the link, let me know,

Hooorah!
CPU is 2.0GHz, not 2.4GHz like I initially said in the title above.
This laptop didn't sell and is now listed on ebay - this advert is finished!
Rescued from ebay and now sold for £150
Hi,
I'm selling my MacBook, bought in Jan 2009. It is a MacBook and not a MacBook Pro, but has the Unibody (the shiny all-in-one aluminium) shell. This was a confusing thing that Apple sold from about Nov 2008 to mid 2009 (more here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MacBook#Unibody_aluminum_model)
It has a Core 2 Duo 2.0GHz CPU, a 13" screen and a 160GB hard drive. I upgraded the RAM from 2GB to 4GB. The battery works well and still often reports more than 3 hours use; but rarely more than 4.
This model doesn't have the nice backlit keyboard. Also no SD card slot.
Faults:
I have just re-installed it with Leopard, and it is ready to be configured by a new owner. I have the Leopard disk, and also the applications disk which gives you stuff like iLife and GarageBand. Obviously you get these disks, too!
I'm also including two power adapters, I find it pretty handy to leave one at my desk and have one in my laptop bag, but that might be me being lazy...
The laptop can be upgraded to the latest Mountain Lion. To do this, you will need to buy a Snow Leopard disk from Apple, and thereafter you can do the upgrades to Lion and then Mountain Lion via online downloads from the app store.
I live in Sheffield and will happily post to anywhere in the UK - I don't have the original box, but I can wrap it up in bubblewrap and use a different box, from a MacBook Air, so you even get the full-on Apple unwrapping experience, except I'm not so good at wrapping stuff up as those folks at Apple.
Alternatively I am in London this weekend, around Blackheath SE3, so if a sale happens by then to a Londoner, we can meet up at the weekend.
There was a very similar laptop for sale recently:
http://www.lfgss.com/thread107400.html
(thanks Chris for bringing this to my attention)
It is a similar spec with a similar dodgy screen. I heard it started at £250 and sold for £200... I'm not sure who has the worse screen! so I shall do something similar and also start at £250. Now £230. Now £200. I'll bump it down towards £200 fairly fast, in the hope of selling it in time for the weekend. (We're there! Now £200). Now £160. Now on ebay.. Now rescued from ebay and sold for £150.
Photos:
Showing the laptop, 2 disks and 2 power adapters. Tray not included, that's just to try to make it look like an Apple display stand:
Showing the stupid Thunderbug that got behind the screen! Tip: if this happens to you, don't squash it like I did. Instead, leave your laptop in a hot place, turned off, upside down, till the thing falls out - apparently they move towards heat.
Showing the crack in the screen. As I say, it extends right to the bottom, mostly in the black border, though this photo makes it look as if it is just the top.
Showing the top. This is reasonably undinged/unscuffed:
Showing the bottom. This is a bit more scratched and two of the rubber feet have gone AWOL.
Happy to provide more photos or answer any more Qs.
It is a while since I used the classifieds and my 'donate' star has expired, so 5% of this sale will go to the forum!
Thanks for any interest, dibs and PMs all welcome.
