I am selling my brother's 1992 MBK Mirage Pro frameset in 54cm due to a carbon upgrade. The sale includes frame / forks / headset / seatpost / downtube cable stops / rear drop out adjusters.
The frameset is made of a Columbus Acciaio Aelle frame with rare ellipse tubing (1800gr) and a Cr-Mo fork (692gr).
The tubes are ellipse shaped - it looks awesome and has to be seen in the flesh, the seatpost (26.4mm) is tightened via the top tube which even has a groove to hide the rear brake cable.
The frame has done a few rounds around the block and has many paint chips but no dents. The decals are lacquered over so you can't remove them. This would make a nice daily ride or would look awesome repainted/powdercoated.
The bottom bracket (standard British thread) shell has been faced so you can run an external bottom bracket as I did.
54cm TT / ST frame - 100m front wheel spacing / 130mm rear wheel spacing - Standard BSA bottom bracket shell - paint chips as described above
Shimano downtube gear stops - allow you to run modern shifters.
Cro-Mo forks (original equipment) - Good condition
1" VP headset with ball bearings (original equipment) - standard BSA threads - good usable condition (111gr).
Sugino SP-H adjustable fluted seatpost, 20mm setback - not stuck and right size!
Rear drop-out adjuster screw - rough but moving
Miche screw on hub / Campagnolo Melbourne 56 rims wheelset. 36H, 126mm spacing. Both wheels are straight although the rear wheel is missing a spoke.
Height wise, I would say this will fit someone around 5'ft7" to 5'ft11" depending in cockpit set up.
For all of this, I am after £120-> £110-> £100- SOLD!.
