Been staring at my bike and bag, replete with rubber bands, for about an hour and a half now wondering what to do. I think I'm fooling myself if I say I'm totally happy with this bodgery....
Quick update on this, which will only add to Carradice's fine reputation.
First got in touch with the Scottish bloke who manufactures the bagman racks on Carradice's behalf. He said he'd sell me an Expedition size Bagman - in Titanium - for about £50. Said I'd get back if I couldn't find a steel one.
Found one on ebay, but without the QR. Got sniped (schoolboy ebaying).
Then phoned Carradice. Turns out they have a few Expedition sized racks kicking about even though they don't sell them any more. I asked how much for a QR version and was told £30 (as compared to the £43 I paid for the Sport size).
Returned my Bagman Sport with a note saying thanks and three days later received a Bagman Expedition in the post....with a refund for the difference in price.
Astonishing customer service. They've basically paid me for buying their product.
