My Dolan PreCursa Build

Hi all, I've been on here for sometime now, and just wanted to start up a build thread to share and maybe get recognized around london haha.

So I picked up my Dolan Pre Cursa frame from BCarley off here, top quality lad who had to wait around in Euston for an extra half an hour ish because I was late haha. Cheers!

Heres the picture he provided in his thread and pretty much how it looked like when i picked it up.

I already had a BLB fly saddle, Cinelli drops, some any stem, no logo crankset, and a set of flip flop wheels I got off here from 1000Archangels, thanks martin!

All this was ready to go on to get me moving asap.

then later took a black no logo wheelset off my mate, pretty bomb proof, nothing special but looks better and still gets me from A to B

Shitty cranks was giving in, and luckily enough a miche primato advanced crankset popped up on here so bagged them quick, Cheers Pearl848!

Picked up some deda pistas for a better look and a black stem as the silver one looked quite out of place, Thanks to Yobaby

then it stood like this for a good while

A few meetups with other fixed gear riders.

Currently in the proccess of refurbishing an Aerospoke for a friend, looked like this when i picked it up.

After a good couple of sessions, paint stripped and rim nearly fully sanded down

Still ran the spoke even when I was stripping it as its my commuter and it looked like this

Then picked up a stem that I've been longing to get hold of a couple days ago and had it fitted on straight away, and this is how it looks like right now. Looking to pick up a better wheelset in the near future, anything deep rim B43/H+/Dodici etc let me know if you have anything laying around, then it will be complete

Pedals - Eclat Nylon, with handmade straps from more speed!

About the frame, Ive noticed that no other dolan pre cursa's that I have seen had the same geometry as mine, the top tube dips a bit, like a lo pro, other ones ive seen have got either a slant or just a straight, anyone else have a pre cursa with the same geometry as mine? would really like to know wassup with it haha

Looking real nice, just got myself a PreCursa. Your top tube appears to slope downwards in the photos where as mine is angled upwards a little bit. Seem to keep seeing it differ with different builds which I find strange!

I just picked up a matt black pre cursa from the forum and am planning how to dress her. Its a bit of a blank canvas. There's a photo on google of a proper ninja build - all black expect the saddle rail and gatorskin logos. It's a good effort but has less character than your build. The stuff im gathering is all black too but I'm wondering whether adding a different colour bar tape and saddle would add to the look or be too crass. Hmm.

Yeah that's the colour of it when the spokes stripped, raw carbon. I wasn't even looking to get it all black, just cam as a coincidence when i was searching for parts on here haha.

spoks are not carbon, is plastic, they call it "composite"

A lower rise stem would mean you could remove some of the spacers. Yet, still have the same bar position. It makes the bike look cleaner and more thought out, imo.

ohh the lowest could leave it was a 5mm spacer, and id have to chop my steerer which i couldnt be bothered to do, and plus it would probably be too low for me when running the drops, but yeah it would probably look better.

If spoks were made of carbon, they wouldn't weigh 1.3kg

velocity deepV alu rim, plus some plastic around, far, far, far away from a proper carbon wheel like a trispoke
